Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp Ltd (OCBC) has emerged as asubstantial shareholder in construction company WCT Bhd, after it acquired5.01% stake in WCT. WCT said theSingapore-based bank had acquired 40.9 million shares in the open market on Monday.The closing price for WCT shares on Monday was at RM2.51. Meanwhile, WCT alsoinformed that Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP) had acquired a total of 2.1million shares on Wednesday and Thursday last week. As a result, KWAP now holdsa 6.04% stake in WCT. WCT rises on RM331m Sabah job

WCT Bhd gained 1.1 per cent to RM2.68 as of 9:50 a.m. in Kuala Lumpur, set for its steepest increase since Feb. 9. The construction group won a RM331 million construction job in the eastern state of Sabah, it said in a statement. -- Bloomberg

Pos Malaysia posts higher profit in 2011

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd's pre-tax profit for the 12-month period ended Dec 31, 2011, increased to RM155.9 million, from
RM99.1 million in the previous corresponding period.

Revenue rose to RM1173.6 million, compared with RM1015 million previously.

"With the new tariff structure for its regulated mail products and the ongoing transformation initiatives, the Board of Directors is optimistic that the Group's performance will be favourable during the financial year," it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
