KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 3): About six million individuals in the Klang Valley have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as at Aug 2, according to the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), citing data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).

This translates into 71.2% of the population in the Klang Valley, comprising Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.

Among the six million who have taken at least one dose of the Covid-19 jab, 2.43 million of them are fully inoculated with two doses. This means 28.8% of the Klang Valley population is now fully inoculated.

The state with the highest percentage of the population when it comes to being fully Covid-19 inoculated is Labuan at 56.5% followed by Sarawak (48.6%) and Perlis (30.7%).

BREAKING NEWS: Covid-19: Malaysia has started discussing securing more vaccine doses for booster shots, children, says KJ

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has started discussions with pharmaceutical companies on possibly securing Covid-19 booster shots, as well as vaccines for children, by next year, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

The Science, Technology and Innovation Minister clarified that even while discussions are ongoing, recommendations from local health experts concerning the need for a booster dose will be given next week.

“I have listened to feedback from MPs that we should make better and faster preparations (to secure the vaccines) in the years to come.

“There are several countries who have booked the vaccines for the year 2022, there may be a need for a third dose or a second booster shot, and also vaccinations for children.


“As such, two weeks ago, I started negotiations with vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer for Malaysia to finalise vaccine procurement for 2022.

“We have a special focus on Pfizer’s new products, which are specifically for booster shots and for children,” he said in Parliament on Wednesday (July 28).

Thanks gloveburnhand for your friendly advice. Same as you, I made good money from gloves last year and got out in time. Recently bought into them again. Im open to diversification and will take a serious look into GenM or GenT. Making money more important than toilet cleaner making 5000 posts talking kok here. But price has been dropping for weeks with today a new recent low, you sure big boys already in? At Rm4 I personally feel has more margin of safety.
