The fuel cost per ASK increased to Baht 0.48 in Q1/2017 from Baht 0.39 in Q1/2016 or rose by 23% due to the gradual recovery in global crude oil prices since late 2016 and continued into Q1/2017,as well as,an increase in the nation’s excise tax on jet fuel price for domestic flight since late January this year.

Nope, the drop in profit is contributed by dual effect, excise tax + 23% raised in jet fuel cost. MAA & other associates would facing the same jet fuel hike matter, hopefully complementary from ancillary income + extra capacity could mitigate some of the impact.

Aviation would no longer cyclical or it's cycle would be very long to turnover. It take time for the market to realize that.

I'm talking about the threshold for IPO, not the potential of Philippines Airasia. To IPO at Bursa, a company required to hold profit record in 3 consecutive latest financial years.

There is not much space left for Tony & kamarudin to buy in AA shares. Their holding is currently near to the threshold which would trigger the mandatory take over offer, an act set by bursa where an entity is compulsory to suggest an offer price to privatize the company when his share holding has exceed or equal to 33% after extra buy in.

Diversification is required when your capital has growth into an extent where full loading to one counter would completely impact its trend. Small player like me still can playing full bullets into single counter. I will consider to diversify my investment one day if I'm able to gain financial freedom.

Price reach to USD60 already enough to push shale oil company to crazy output, they hv hedged big position between 45-55. OPEC are no longer the price settle. They hv big competitors right now.

Batu and dehouse, you r not alone. I hv 85% of my portfolio in AA and 15% cash at the moment. I hv NVR had more than 4 stocks in my combination at one time, and I always hv more than 75% weight on one or two of them. Ppl said diversifying would help to lower your risk, but if you don't understand your stocks, even a 10 counters combination would cause you a bloody lost. With less counters in my combination, I could be more focus.

Ans he always call for ambitious target,if can achieve 80% it's good for me as I experienced some from his passed statements :
1.) Target to turn down AA net gearing to 1 at 2015 (or 2016 I forgot).
Result : Net gearing has been lower from quarter to quarter, but still far from 1. Probably this year could achieve.

2.) Target to make PAA and IAA profitable at 2015. Reemphasize it again at 2016.
Result : 2015 not able to make it,
2016, change his statement from profitable to become opeartional profitable.

3.) Target to make the AAC sales done at 2016
Result : From end of 2016 changed to 1Q2017, then 2Q2017.


Don't donate your heart to a salesman....this is common sense....
