By FY17, the group expects equal revenue contribution from the IT and O&G segments on the back of a ramp up in contributions from OGPC and Ping, coupled with commencement of a new US$70 million (RM291 million) umbrella contract from Petronas for directional drilling.

“DNex entered the O&G business at an opportune time due to attractive acquisition valuations for its O&G assets. It has an effective 15% interest in the Anasuria cluster via its acquisition of a 30% stake in Ping Petroleum for US$10 million in FY16. The latter is located in the Central North Sea, at approximately 175km east of Aberdeen.

“It currently produces 6,428 barrels daily and has 2P (proved and probable reserves) amounting to 40.4 million stock tank barrels of oil and 27.9 billion cubic foot of gas. Note that the field has low earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation breakeven oil price of US$25 per barrel. We expect DNex’s stake in Anasuria to contribute RM15-20 million per annum to its bottomline based on an oil price assumption of US$45 per barrel,” Goon said.
