Very clever of them to pay treasury share of 1 share for every 20 shares that au own. Effectively equal to 8 cts per share at closing price of $3.93. That way the company preserve its own cash holdings.

Ex_CFO, u got me interested on Evergrn after yr write up. It is mystifying why this shares shld go down after bonus issue. If 2015 was such a good year where they make $94mio, why did the company place out shares to raise money. It is very unusual for company to declare interim dividend in their year end results and no div for yr end. This is really puzzling. Also the interim div is 1cts which is pittance. I thot Latitude div is pittance, but this is stretching my imagination. The company at $1.07 is not trading at 7PE. It is closer to 10 if you include the bonus and the share placement.

Hmm, strong opening. Insiders buying ah??? Result for last qtr ending Mar 31st gotta to be good. Any body care to comment.

At some point, a strong Ringgit is not necessarily bad for Latitude. Investors can take advantage to park their assets in ringgit assets if its currency continues to strengthen.

For last qtr ending 31st Dec 2015, we can expect result will be release after CNY. The corresponding qtr ending on 31st Dec 2014, result was release on 12 jan 2015. So after CNY price may be underpinned by this coming good result.

Fr what I can see KYY is a smart investor. He can see that all furniture stocks are trading fr 13 to 15pe except for Latitude at PE of 9. With the earning reporting season coming, and the USD spiking, it is a recipe of strong tailwind to push the prices up.

Watch for HOMERITZ earnings on end Jan 2016. It is the forward indication for other furniture stocks.

The management is resolute in not yielding to the investors who want a bonus or share split. Now that the investing public is subdue or accept their decisions, the next focus is 2nd qtr earnings ending 31 Dec 2015. Poh Huat announced higher earnings. Next is Liihen. If Liihen also announces very good upside, than Latitude likewise shld be able to get $0.35per share per qtr. Then a price of $10 or even $12 shld not be surprising.

This share is rocketing. Regrets selling too early. Can buy back or not?
2016-01-06 10:56 | Report Abuse
Like I said no need to bonus or split share for affordability. The bursa allows u to buy 100 shares. So buying 100 shares instead of 1000 shares is just only 10% of its value. Be patient abt dividend. Management need a war chest of cash to make expansion. If share price moves abv Rm10, then acquisition using share issue to pay for is the best option. The higher the price, the less share needs to be issued for acquisition. Otherwise huge dilution.
2016-01-06 10:06 | Report Abuse
Management has spoken-they are not going to dilute the shares with bonus or share split. Management will spend their time on how to grow the company thru expansion and merger. The share price will take care of itself when the company profits are increase year-after-year.

Expensive is not a good word to measure value. Rm8 will be expensive for a bowl of noodle or chicken rice. Rm8 will be cheap for a bowl of bird nest soup. Latitude is like bird nest-good value- more bangs for your buck.

With impending Dec FED interest rate increasing, 1MDB still a very dark cloud over the country & oil prices weakening, the ringgit will just sink further. So protect yourself by picking up shares of company doing export business.

When Furniture Co A and B shares are rising and that of C (in the same kind of business) are declining, it does not take a rocket scientist to buy C. That is what I did and now looking at >$8 or more. Others Furniture Co are trading at close to 13-15pe, and Latitude is <9pe. With result expecting to be higher, again it does not take rocket scientist that Latitude is really below its value.

Havn't posted for quite a while. Anyway I just bght some. I was embolden by the upward movement of Hevea, Liihen. That means the industry as a whole is doing pretty well. So I think Latitude results will be on par with the rest. The current price of 20% off its peak is a bargain. Of course, investors are generally disappointed with the low div and no bonus. So if you are an disgruntled investors, you shld attend the AGM Dec 10 and ask these questions.

with yesterday announcement on the completion of the late founder estate, I think management shld look into restructuring the company to enhance shareholder values. The low liquidity of less than 50000 shares traded shld be addressed immly. If not, this share can easily be forgotten and management (the founding family) who holds more than 35% will see their wealth quickly shredded.

Lukesharewalker, if u look at the NAPS (Net asset per share) as spelled out in this website http://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/fin/7006.jsp you will see that the NAPS has increased fr $3.16 to $4.22 a jump of $1.06 (not 82cts being eps). Why not jump by $1.14, u may want to know? This is because they paid out 8cts div in Jan 2015. So all money is accounted for.

Foreign Current Trans gain are not operating profits. But it added into its net asset backing.
Maybe an accountant can comment better. Any out there?

The earnings is quite incredible. W/O Foreign Currency Translation. it makes an operating net profit $80.02mio or 82sen. W Foreign Currency Translation, it makes another $32.436mio (or 33sen per share) as of 30th Jun 2015. Now we are end of Aug, and the USD cash which they are holding would have appreciated 8-9%. Someone can calculate the impact of this Foreign Currency Translation. Like I have been saying for many months already, the best protection you can get is to own shares of companies who business are in USD and whose assets are also in USD. Don’t u think that $8 is too cheap!!!!

Yesterday there were a slew of announcements regarding the distribution of the estate of former founder Lin Tze-Keng. As long as the estate is not fully distributed to individual related people, then the company will not be willing to make corporate changes (like bonus, share spilt or large dividend). Now that the son Lin Chin-Hung got 5.7mio shares (out of 18mio shares own by Lin tze-keng), I wonder whether we can now see some corporate restructuring. What do you think?

With the ringgit dropping so fast with USD, it can only means that when you buy Latitude, you are actually exchanging(in this case selling) yr ringgits. So it's a good exchange to protect yrself.

FGV is a commodity stock. All hard commodities(iron ore, nickel, copper etc) and soft commodities(soyabean, palm oil, rubber etc) are all time low. All commodities currencies like Canadian, South African Rand, Australia(holiday in Aussie is good now) are also very low. Gold price is 5 yr low. Oil price are now below $50 per barrel. What does it tells us about the world economy. Commodity boom was on a 10 yr uptrend boom when China growth. The downtrend will take some time to play out.
A strong US dollars is not necessarily bad for US. It is not an exporting country that requires low labour to compete. Consumers form 70% of US GDP, so a strong dollars in fact give them more purchasing power.

In my many years of investment, I subscribe to the view, that the company is not in business of making the share price higher. If the company has excess cash with no medium term investmen or expansion, they should distribute them as dividends or buy back shares which has fallen below their NAV. The company job is the increase shareholders value by making more money every year. The market should be smart enough to know share prices should rightly rise in tandem with ever higher earnings. If it doesn't, then it is an opportunity to buy. If the company is busy rigging and manipulating share prices, then they are not running the company to increase shareholder value. It is the speculators who should be busy rigging and manipulating share prices.

No need to look for Mr Koon. He is collecting at this level everyday. At $0.65 for 3/4 annual earning per share, can any share be cheaper. Also the foreign assets are in USD and sales are in USD, no need to be a rocket scientist to figure out if annual eps will > $1.
