Description

COMMENCEMENT OF NEGOTIATIONS AMONG MALAYSIA BUILDING SOCIETY BERHAD (MBSB), DRB-HICOM BERHAD (DRB) AND KHAZANAH NASIONAL BERHAD (KHAZANAH).
We wish to announce that MBSB has on 1 October 2015, received a letter from Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) dated 30 September 2015 which states that BNM has no objection in principle for MBSB to commence negotiations with the existing shareholders of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (“BMMB”), namely DRB and Khazanah, for a proposed merger of MBSB and BMMB (“the Proposed Merger”). BNM requires that the negotiations must be completed within three (3) months from the date of BNM's letter.

Citigroup Global Markets Limited and AmInvestment Bank Berhad will act as Advisors for MBSB in the Proposed Merger.

Further details on the Proposed Merger will be announced in due course.
