simple as this, if u take ulicorp 7133 for example, it declared dividen of 3 sen and current price 82sen, which equivalent to ROI of 0.03/0.82 = 3.7% same as FD rate..as for chuan huat 7016 it declared 2.5 sen dividend on 3 july 2013, and assuming the price can reach 60sen, ROI shud be 0.025/0.60 = 4% well above FD rate...moreover at 60sen, PE is still attractive at 8x...
