At 0.40, for those who have purchased between 0.135 to 0.20 and still holding, is a hefty 100% profit. Seasoned players would have left long ago. Peng1185, it all hinges on the qtr results. If results ok, it will cross 0.20 to touch 0.22/0.23 range. If result is bad, which I have this leaning, you can get cheaper than 0.175. However, I don't see an immediate reaction on the same day when the qtr result is announce, unless it is exceptionally good or terriblely bad.

Scomien looks to me is more of clear stock around + - 0.475 range.

Peng1185, the entire Scomi families have to release the qtr results anytime from now till 28/02/18 but no later than 28/02/17 unless sanction by Bursa for whatever reasons.

Prices start to slowly drift down from now until the qtr results announcement. The outcome of the financial results will determine the direction unless some positive ammouncement comes along or mere speculative play.

OmManiPadmeHum, how did you get 1H loss 53.547 mil loss. 2nd qrt (Oct 2016 - Dec 2016) not announce yet which is supposed to be out this month. If what you mentioned is true, woh ! where is the fumdamental which is so much needed to sustain the share price to move further up north. Unless and only unless major additional jobs win to boost future earnings. Otherwise, there can only be further deterioration in the financial numbers follow by selldown if not a meltdowm. We have not heard of any contract wins since 9 monthhs ago. What is the value of the orderbook now ? What is the burnrate ? How much of cash is left in the balance sheet now ?

I think the price will stay around this level for awhile . If there is a deal to sell a stake or the entire stake to China more room to move higher. As far back as 1 year plus, NTA was 0.80 plus. Surely is worth more than this level. Continue to keep pushing will only invite UMA which as this point is really unwarranted. As the share price moves higher the main beneficary would obviously be Scomi Group which NTA will pop up tremedously given their controlling stake in Scomien being around 73%. Yes, easy to push up Scomien price. Free float is considered small. My 2 cents view.

vitac, you are absolutely right. In the RSC, the oil pump from the well belongs to Petronas. Benefit from it is prehaps some sharing of the profit from sale of the crude oil. Even if RSC is successful, surely Scomi as a group is so much more than RSC alone. Other business activities have to perform and contribute positively as well. At the moment other busines activities are actually not ok. Still a long way to go. Definately not fundamental play. Unless some solid annoumcement on projects win (which is so lacking at the moment) that can change the course of the orderbook.

Since news is out, is merely a speculative push. Would not last and will retreat south from today. Quarterly result will remain disappointing and will add further selldown pressure.

luckyman, have you thought of the fact that profit genrated by OPHIR (hopefully crude can still US50 and above by 2nd half) could easily be negated by the under utilisation of marine vessels, low drilling activities and low waste management activities ?

For those monitoring the progress of Scomi in general, Scomi Engineering has got into some spotlight for the wrong reasons. Go to google and enter search "dnaindia mumbai monorail". Look for the latest breaking news. Wonder if someone and shed some light on the matter ? Or maybe, work of spinner. Can Scomi Engineering clarify ? Not a piece of news that you want if the price is to move higher. They appear to have enless problem with Mumbai monorail.

Too early to pop the champagne. Where is the fundamental coming from ? Scomi is not in the branch of E&P in the world of O&G. IJM got the shares at 0.36 is public knowledge. Why use stale news to make it appears to be something to get excited over. WIthout winning more contracts, price can't go far. Crude can be US$100, not getting new jobs to pump up orderbook would be useless. You expect good numbers from qtr result next month ? I doubt it. Unless pending major positive announcement which one can give some clue to is more beneficial than to hi-Iight IJM stake at 0.36.

HSR ? I dont think is their experties. Monorail would not fit into HSR. Soon price head south again unless trigger by several contract/project awards that can pump up the orderbook, failing which even a small job win would not provide substance fundamentally.

Scomi expects its performance outlook to remain challenging for the rest of the financial year. In Scomi case as a group, financial performance is a function of the size of their orderbook accumulated from the success in bidding for jobs/contracts. Does 'remain challenging' means it is not going to be likely winning jobs/contracts to replenish orderbook for the rest of the financial year ? What is the current orderbook value now and what is the burnrate ? Should shareholders be alarmed ? Any comments or thoughts on these ?

What is happening to Scomi-Platinum Sdn Bhd, a Scomi ES and Graphene Nanochem JV located in Port Klang. Up and running procuction ? Aborted ? Under construction ? Answer, anyone ?

Bottomline. The entire group must win contracts to increase the orderbook. Current jobs will eventually be depleted. Replenishment of orderbook appears very sluggish of late. Should this situation continues till the financial year end, deeper trouble prevails. IJM will not be able to do much as O&G and rail are not their line of expertise. Going forward, marine vessel services will hit hard. Today, vol for Scomi is merely a rollover for T4 position on 10/08/16. It will not last, if one deems that somthing is coming. Without more jobs coming in, any price movement north will not last and merely short term at best one week action and limited in price range. Unless announcement of securing a huge contract, then it would be a different case altogether. As of now, tough going as pointed out in the AR itself. Bear in mind, total borrowing, if I have not mistaken is very much above RM1b and this adds more pressure. For Scomi as a group, its performance is a function of succesfully securing as many jobs as possible (assuming profitable) like any other business if one is to do well. This is not happening at least not at the moment. Until it happens, then we can start talking about fundemental and ratios again. To buy or not to buy, that is the question and will remain as a question for those who have set sights on these companies.
