Nature of business is FLBHD would buy raw material first, then manufacture and sell. The time delay in a rising market of timber price should give the company more profit, unless it does forward selling, i.e. secure order first only then order/make. I assume this is not the case, otherwise, it won't have so much inventory on hand.

If FLB just sell the inventory on the B/S, which cost should be much lower than its current value. You should make decent profit !!

Not only RV market was and is up, but boat industry is also HOT in North America. Plus, American build house mostly with timber, which caused lumber price to soar. There is not reason FLB isn't doing well, unless you can complain about container shipping cost... Hope FLB will be flying soon ...

there are some local lumber price indication here @moneylai, however too bad, the prices were not updated frequently enough to make decision on

one of the reason lumber price was up, because of short of supply, which FLB contributed in part, for not being able to supply to the market where goods were needed the most. Q3, many suppliers will be coming online to take advantage of the higher price, but also will drive down unit price.

what my concerns more, is that company has so much cash in disposal and were trading shares(other equities in klse or elsewhere) in the past, as way of treasury management, instead of returning those cash. return seemed to be good in the past, my real concern is how FLB is doing with share trading/investments with so much cash in the past few months, hopefully didn't cash out their positions at low point and riding high with top glove etc. if indeed, this is main operation of the company, FLB should publish their equity investment positions like other fund managers.

question is, FLB doesn't own timber/lumber, they are manufacturer, right? if lumber price goes up, so is their cost, no ?
