I happened upon some info from steel industry that I need help with analyzing. In 2016 Malaysia's Bars, Section, Pipe & Tube estimate consumption 5.27mil MT, about 2.5mil MT import, <0.5mil MT export . Overall 40% steel imports from China, 19% from Japan, 11% from Korea, 9% from ASEAN, I don't have the specific products' import countries. The import numbers mean that the market is big enough for Malaysian manufacturers to do more, or it could also mean, regional competition can do more. Would like to hear more expert thoughts, thank you all.

Regarding 232 steel tariff, imo, likely to affect scrap reliant upstream producers. Effect on regional downstream players may be delayed.

Q2 Q3 market looks good, pricing good raw material shortage, personally expecting to see good short term financial results. But stock market is stock market, hoping for a turnaround in share price.

a little thing that Datin can do now is to eat up the sellers queing at 0.52, 0.525 and 0.53, and then give a public statement to say that Q4 will be the good quarter and 2018 will be good. she must explain that she meant that financial year 2017 is good, not Q3 (as it show a loss after tax)

to regain shareholder confidence, she must do this. let's hope that happen

In this counter I see Amanahraya (used to be big shareholder) has been decreasing its shareholding in the company across time, probably to get out of small cap, may have to do with the share price decrease (can't tell since it was no longer major shareholder since July so whatever it had left the share movement wouldn't be announced).
