PETALING JAYA: Businessman Tan Sri Halim Saad and Datuk Wong Gian Kui have joined the race to take over PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PMB) with a RM5.2bil offer.
This is also not the first time Halim is wanting to get PMB back. Last October, he and his friends via Karongsa Private Capital Sdn Bhd had written to Works Minister Baru Bian to propose the setting up of a highway trust company to take over all the toll roads in the country.
“I intend to undertake this offer with Wong, a prominent businessman, who currently sits on the boards of Insas Bhd

Insas price really doesn't make any sense.
The latest Deposit with license financial institutions and Bank balance alone already 93sen/share.

I think better form a group, appoint a leader/spokesperson and talk to Thong. Friendly approach should be more fruitful. Who know... Thong may give you some tips too on investment

The decision is in the hand of the management whether to reclassify from associate to investment. With less than 19% they can claim not to have control but at the same time can also claim to have control as the board of directors are the same.
Certainly hope that they reclassify as the current Insas price doesn't reflect true value of the share.
Perhaps SSLee should raise this matter if results not out during AGM. At the same time, likely Insas management also reading the comments here.

Yi-Lai’s management team is headed by independent non-executive chairman Datuk Wong Gian Kui. The 57-year-old Wong, an accountant by profession, was appointed to the board as independent non-executive director on Aug 11, 2015. He later assumed the chairman’s post in February, last year.

SsLee should ask if this will take place too...
TheContrarian Insas' shareholding in Inari has dipped below 20% for the first time. If Insas is not allowed to treat Inari as an associated company, accounting standards require it to recognize fair value gain on Inari shares resulting an instant gain of around RM800,000,000.
03/10/2017 19:16
TheContrarian The disposal of Inari shares was deliberately done at end of September. If there is going to be a accounting policy change, the instant gain of RM800 million will be reflected in QR ending Sept 2017

with such good results, sales from all those who got stuck over the years can be easily absorbed. This can launch the share price it to greater heights

... Malaysian retail investors are looking to buy stocks of medical glove makers to drive up their share prices and squeeze out short sellers, drawing inspiration from the recent rally at US firm GameStop Corp.
Interesting how US retailers beat hedgefunds who short sell GameStop.
Will Insas buyers able to squeeze out shortsellers like GameStop?
