I don't think that interest hike of 0.25% or even 0.5% should have caused such a fall. The end effect is a reduction in net profit of only RM2700 million debt x 0.25% x 0.7 = RM4.7 million a year. This is insignificant and immaterial compared to the annual profits of 180 million in 2021.

Its also the wrong company. If you look at Ecoworld international's price, it hasn't fallen much. The slide started on the day BNM increased rates by 0.25%. I note that the fall was in relatively low volume and there were no significant high volume before that. Whatever the reason is, I hope that it will turnaround soon.

Bursa is a sectorial play market. So whether it can reach RM1.20, 1.50, 2.00 or even 5.00 depends on whether the property sector is in favor with pundits This has never happened the past 10 years. However, personally I think RM1.00 is certainly possible though I believe Ecoworld deserves to be RM1.60 given its dynamism of management, execution of projects and track record.

Massive loans are only a problem if you are making losses and in a rising interest environment. Neither is happening. Liew and Co should just reject the deal. It stinks. UEMS is just printing new shares. It costs them nothing to do so. Show us the Money, nothing less.

I say no logic because it's a share swap. Directors are getting shares of a company that is not as dynamic as Ecoworld. You only need to look at uems's results. It's a different culture, different thinking, ideas etc. I would sell all I have if the deal does through. I don't understand why folks are so concerned about gearing when the money is used to buy land which does not depreciate. I think borrowing to buy land is a good option if a developer is to grow fast. I see no problems since Ecoworld is profitable. Anyway interest is at all time low and is not going up for a long time.

I am not certain but I think company's have a few days grace before they are required to disclose. There are times where they do a "immediate disclosure" but that is voluntary.

The transaction date is not same as the disclosure date. The transaction could have been done over a few days and only disclosed yesterday.

I think LKS will eventually pay dividends. You only have to look at SPSetia's track record. I think the priority is to pay down the loans first. Ecoworld has about RM3.5 billion worth. A few person's have alluded to its high gearing but I think this is not a problem given the current low interest rate environment. Barring any unforeseen event, the housing industry is expected to recover strongly in 2021. We may see a dividend in 2021. One must understand the directors own 70% of the shares. They too will benefit from a dividend payment. They too suffer if the share price falls.
