Expected rig count will go up again and oil price will suddenly drop. But so what. It is weekly affair and oil price will go up again shortly after the result. We should only worry if the price went down and never go up again. Last week rig count was the best example. Biggest jump in rig count but oil price continue going up.

Thinkfirst, no doubt the oil price will be temporary affected if rig count is high but it just temporary. Recently the rig count keep on increasing but so as the oil price too.

Can't see any logic to be worry about increasing oil rig unless we have data on world oil demand and the amount of oil the rigs are actually producing. Sommore the oil rig data is covering Us only. How about the rest of the world?

Logically, building more rigs indicating brighter future demand for oil? It involved huge investment in building rigs. Furthermore, an offshore oil rig usually operate for 30 to 40 years. It's a long term investment. Surely those companies able to see the demand and potential before building those rigs?

Last night reported inventory increased but oil price still holding quite well. How to explain that?

Don't think the price will down much from the current level.

While we are comparing day to day oil price, speculating about OPEC, Trump effect, rig count etc.. Actually based on the long term chart, oil price has been recovering rapidly. Brent oil price has increased from the range of usd42-51 in Jul-Sept to usd45-56 in Sept-Dec. Surely the oil industry is benefiting from the higher oil price. As for Hibiscus, do you expect the next Qtr result from Sept-Dec will not be better than the previous one?

Yes, day to day oil price is not fully correlated with the price of Hibiscus. However it's still a good indicator. I'm more interested on the positive news that indicating brighter future potential for oil industry
