TMC Life Sciences' 3Q net profit rises near 13% as revenue improves

Kuala Lumpur (April 21): TMC Life Sciences Bhd saw its net profit rise by 12.7% to RM3.28 million in its third financial quarter ended Aug 31, 2016 (3QFY16) from RM2.91 million in 3QFY15, mainly due to higher revenue recorded and interest income earned.

Revenue for 3QFY16 jumped 18.8% to RM31.39 million from RM26.41 million in the previous corresponding quarter, mainly due to higher patient load with increased bed capacity, additional consultants recruited and higher growth in its fertility business.

For the cumulative nine months ended Aug 31, 2016 (9MFY16), its net profit climbed 60% to RM9.51 million from RM5.94 million a year ago while revenue jumped 24.2% to RM92.79 million from RM74.68 million.

In a bourse filing, TMC Life said the growth prospects for the healthcare sector in Malaysia remains positive, fueled by changing demographics, a more affluent society and more health-conscious lifestyles in Malaysia. Medical tourism is also growing.

"With the recent completion of two new wards, our hospital in Kota Damansara is now a 200-bed hospital to meet the growing demand.

"The group plans to open a new TMC Fertility Centre branch in Ipoh and a retail pharmacy in Johor Bahru during the financial period ending Aug 31, 2016," it added.

（吉隆坡28日讯）医院营运商TMC生命科学（TMC Life Sciences Bhd）截至2016年5月31日的财政年，净利按年增长35.31%至539万令吉，同期净赚398万令吉，归因于病患人数和病床增加、增聘顾问，以及生育业务和利息收入增长。

尽管如此，TMC生命科学的每股盈利则由此前的0.4仙，跌挫至0.32仙。

该集团向大马交易所报备，当季营业额则从上财年同期的2850万令吉，按年上扬22.49%至3491万令吉。

截至今年5月31日累计12个月的业绩表现，TMC生命科学的净利暴增50.11%至1490万令吉，同期净赚992万令吉；营业额扬23.76%至1亿2770万令吉，同期报1亿319万令吉；每股盈利则由1.01仙，滑落至0.88仙。

该集团在2015年10月1日宣布，将财年截止日更换至8月31日。

有鉴于此，TMC生命科学目前的财年截止日由原本的2015年6月1日，更换至2016年8月31日。

展望未来，TMC生命科学表示，由于人口结构的变化及社会更加富裕，加上人们更注重健康的生活方式，以及医疗旅游领域不断增长，大马医疗保健领域的增长前景依然正面。

不过，该集团也承认，汇率波动影响进口药品和医疗器材的供应。

“政府实施消费税（GST），以及人力成本与间接成本上涨，这些因素对我们的整体成本架构造成影响。”

随着两间新病房近期落成，TMC生命科学指出，其位于雪州哥打白沙罗的医院，目前一共有200张病床，以应付日益增长的需求。

“该集团在今年7月19日于新山开设TMC Care药房，同时也计划在今年9月于怡保增设一家TMC生育中心的分行。”

闭市时，TMC生命科学扬2仙或2.34%，收报于87.5仙，全日一共有96万9800股易手，市值达15亿2500万令吉。

吉隆坡12日讯）TMC生命科学（TMCLIFE，0101，主板贸服组）和Advance Renal Care（亚洲）有限公司（ARCA）签署备忘录，以探讨合作在新山设立和／或营运一间全马最大型的洗肾中心。

该公司在文告中表示，计划中的洗肾中心将是大马最大型和最完善的洗肾中心，将设于新山Vantage Bay保健城（VHBC）的Iskandariah医院，预计于2019年启业。

Vantage Bay保健城是综合医疗保健服务枢纽，包括一间500个床位的医院、医学教育训练枢纽和疗养度假村.
