By now we should know its a buy and hold stock cos oil and gas is cyclical... And period for project to translate into RM takes time... It's a medium term to long term share... At least 12-24 months holding power....

So....

If the 80/20 principal is true, then for the RAPID project:

20% of vendors/contractors/suppliers will get 80% of the value of the project investment.

If KNM has a potential market of RM10-13 billion in RAPID, where does it put KNM? In the 20% group?

So it makes sense for investors to focus on the 20% vendors in the next months, while RAPID develops into a full fledge running project.

Some interesting facts...

Less than 20% of stocks listed on bursa make up 80% of the total bursa market capitalization.

Pareto principle is pretty amazing when it is used to analyse figures in the share market. :)

And KNM is still dabbling on listing Borsig. I would love to hear the boss' thoughts on the progress. It's their cash cow and it will bring in the much needed working capital for KNM before fabrication works start flowing in.

There's no trapping anyone here to buy. I think just looking at available information, tells you that the "potential" is there for KNM-- like 2005-2006 years. Back then the job prospects were less promising compared to today. And yet the stocks went through the ceiling then. (Buying frenzy!)

Today, job prospects are clearer for KNM and with everyone still cautious from the 2007 mess up, chances are there won't be a global mess up again, anytime soon. (As spoken by Warrwn Buffet la....)

Also, correct me if I am inaccurate in this observation, KNM has almost NO competitor on Malaysia capable of fabricating some of the products they specialize in. Some products are also proprietary to KNM. (Except some Korean and Japanese players)

Pricing wise KNM will have an advantage because they already have their fabrication yard and key personnel with the expertise locally.

Your thoughts please.

I wonder whether KNM will need to raise capital for their future projects? Their cash flow is not strong at the moment. What are your thoughts?

Is KNM in the process of setting up a fabrication yard in Johor? Are there any news on this?

There are rumours that KNM is strengthening their management in preparation of future jobs. (Senior and middle management) Dialog spent he past 5 years doing that and they currently have a young (albeit less experienced) middle management and senior managers (young age) to prepare them for the next 10 years of growth.

KNM's portion in RAPID is estimated at RM10billion to RM13billion... With project expected to be commissioned by 2019, that project value is expected to be billed within 4 years... Pretty sweet figures. BUY and HOLD fellas... :)

No inside info... If have it won't be shared here. It will be over coffee.

If have inside info that person won't come here to share it and will quietly make his millions.

I suppose people come here to get some feedback and views about financial performance and how it reflects eps in the mid long term and how projects pipeline are developing. If lotsa projects means higher revenue...

So it's about projects availability and financial performance of the company...

There is risks of losing money-- that's share trading.

Shares of company is supposed to be a reflection of future performance of the company. Not so much current performance of the company financially.

It is at this price cos of legacy issues and poorly times decisions made by boss man.

Now, if u are after long term investment-- buy and hold. Cos news already tells you that the next 2-4 years, barring any global catastrophe or some major cock ups by management at KNM, we should be looking at the darling of Bursa Malaysia in the coming months.

I could be wrong la, cos in Malaysia stocks are goreng by major players and small players like us here-- THINK we made money... But actually it's just like sleeping with a hooker without condom and getting away without AIDs... Matter of time before you get bitten.

Write a comment..Full year 2013 results came back-- nothing stellar but a good improvement from 2012 FY results. Without significant improvement in global sales - in fact, a slight dip sales compared to 2012...KNM returned a profit.

It's the result I assume of rationalization exercises of its businesses specially the production facilities and projects secured at low margins are getting cleared.

I have said before you can't beat the house...the house being the market.

KNM is a case of buy and hold... Minimum 24 months ...aim for the organic growth KNM will experience in the next 2-5 years

Something is brewing and it's gonna be a long shot... I suggest all to go long... U can't beat the house so don't try... Ultimately long bets win... (The masters here are better judges)

If you have run a company or own a reasonable sized company, you will know it's takes time to reorganize and then reap the profits. And for O&G, it's not like selling donuts (and even selling donuts take time to lift off, if you watch the turn around business of Dunkin Donuts)... for O&G it takes time to gather momentum, reach into deals and get the most out of each projects... After all, project management softwares were made for projects in OnG cos the duration is years not months... :)

Good luck all. I say bet for long.

Nothing goes up in a straight line...to quote El Erian...

KNM will go up...gradually and perhaps uncertainly...but in the mid to long term...it will probably be one of the performers in the stock market..

You could buy and hold and forget about it for 18-24 months... Or u could play the trades and hope to make some small change...

The way I see it....unless u have inside information and have it at the right timing.... You cannot beat the HOUSE....

Fundamentally KNM is NOT a bad company... Not necessarily the best of companies in the market... So it's in a rut because of bad publicity and huge debt... It's a matter of time that these two items are sorted.

Why goreng the stock? Just buy and hold... You will be rewarded.
