4) Ringgit going down again. This is good for Hibiscus because they sell in USD.

Investar2862 Actually this is a good news for Hibiscus's shareholders!

Why?

1) The management is FORCED to make a statement to clarify the possible misinterpretation of the news portal reporting.

2) In sharing the true story, the status of the matter, management had revealed that "This temporary production halt (6 days) is not expected to impact our crude oil offtake schedule or have any material effect on the earnings of the Hibiscus Petroleum group for the financial year ending 30 June 2019".

So, what's the issue??

Now is already April and the incident occur in February and management knows the fact whether production was impacted or not.
This management has the integrity as far as I know, to tell the truth... (They are not stupid to take the risk to lie because later the truth will be revealed in this coming quarterly results reporting, expected to be by end of May 2019.

Now I am more confident (no worry) now that the Anasuria uptake is according to HIBISCUS schedule/plan!

3) Brent crude oil is going up...trending up.

Delisting soon

Malaysia’s market accessibility level is in danger of being downgraded under the FTSE’s global classification framework.
Bloomberg reported that the ringgit’s decline today was partly due to concerns about Malaysia possibly being dropped from the WGBI, as well as due to falling oil prices. The ringgit is also affected by headlines from former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s trial related to 1MDB, as well as Malaysia’s dispute with the European Union over palm oil.

Bloomberg also reported FTSE Bursa Malaysia the “worst major market in the world so far this year” as it has slipped 3.6 percent.“Hopes of luring back global investors to a battered stock market are dimming by the day for Malaysia’s government,” the financial daily reported.Samsung Asset Management Co reportedly said the gloomy outlook for the Malaysian stock market is not likely to lift anytime soon.

“Malaysia will likely disappoint over the next year because since the new government came in power in May 2018, it has been lowering public debt with fiscal tightening.

..dim view of Malaysian stocks was not because there was a downside risk, but “just that there is nothing to be positive about over the next 12 months”.

If selldown, its because of IDSS only. Announcement say closed for 6 days. 6 days out of 90 days (in 1 quarter), not that big of a deal.

If Brent price keep going up, easily make up for the loss in production.

Hibiscus there got announcement about Ping Petroleum. Dnex got affected or not?

Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad (“Hibiscus Petroleum”) refers to an article published on Upstream Online titled “Petrofac launches appeal against UK prohibition notice” dated 16 April 2019 (“the Article”).

In the Article, it is stated “the prohibition notice was served against Petrofac Facilities Management, which has been running the FPSO on behalf of Anasuria Operating Company (AOC), a joint venture between Malaysian companies Hibiscus Petroleum and Ping Petroleum, since 2016.”

Such a statement may have caused some confusion given that our indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Anasuria Hibiscus UK Limited (“AHUK”), jointly operates the Anasuria Cluster via AOC with Ping Petroleum UK Limited.

In relation thereto, we wish to clarify that subsequent to a routine visit by the Health and Safety Executive (“HSE”) in late February 2019 to the Anasuria FPSO, Petrofac as duty holder of the offshore production facility, was instructed through the prohibition notice, to temporarily halt production pending the mitigation of a potential risk identified by HSE inspectors in relation to the asset’s flare tip. As a result, production was temporarily halted and over the next six days, decisive action was taken by Petrofac and AHUK to mitigate any potential risk. Other previously planned maintenance work was also simultaneously undertaken during this period. There were no injuries or loss of containment as a result of this matter.

Our understanding is that Petrofac is appealing the issuance of the prohibition notice by the HSE.

This temporary production halt is not expected to impact our crude oil offtake schedule or have any material effect on the earnings of the Hibiscus Petroleum group for the financial year ending 30 June 2019.

We wish to emphasise that Hibiscus Petroleum, AHUK and Petrofac’s priority is always the safety and welfare of all employees and contractors.

This announcement is dated 17 April 2019.

Green energy long term - yes will mean less demand on oil. But for short term, most of the democrat candidate support limiting fossil fuel extraction because it will damage the enviroment. So in the short term, oil supply from US will be stagnant/down and oil price will go up.

@nckcm Wtf u talking.. greene energy means less demand on oil.. oil become over supply then price drop la... wtf u toking
