I would advise placing some reserved funds. While dividend payout could be imminent, in whatever forms, history reveals that the trend of Bjcorp of raising capital in the name of the dubious grand project through issuing right issues. Only VT knows what is at the end of the rabbit hole.

More good news are needed to move the stock price. The recent news with BjAsset and SEM are just the starters. Looking forward for the main course.

The next biggest gem could be the Vietnam sports betting license. Since the decree took effect on 31 March, not much news has been released, much to the annoyance of many of us who place high hope (in hindsight, premature hope) into this. Curiously, many international parties have geared up to invest in horse/greyhound race tracks, but no news whatever hitherto on parties expressed similar interests in sports betting. World cup 2018 is coming. I believe bjcorp stands a good chance and a worthy candidate to secure the license as the company has invested consistently in the country throughout the years. Just hope TSVT and his son can give a good fight into this. Time for Robin to show his true colour.

My take to this is Chemist warehouse business model is based on bulk buying (a review has been done which can be found on the internet), hence advantageous against peers. Second, even if the current market condition is not suitable, Bjcorp should do proper study beforehand (the JV was signed in March). A company Morning Charm has been bought for this purpose, albeit at a relatively small sum of RM80 K according to the news. I smell misstep.

This is truly a disappointment to call off the JV. Chemist warehouse dominates Australia market by offering greatly discounted pharmacy products, a niche that yet to be explored in Malaysia and sure-win against other players, e.g. Guardian, Watson etc. Robin Tan should provide a good reason - another failure projects added to his belt.

Agree with Yes666 that the CEO and in fact the whole board of directors are truly incompetent. The company runs like a headless chicken. Abandoned HCM housing project, far apart compared to Gamuda. Every quarter is deemed challenging or very challenging. It reminds me idiot would characteristically feel challenging in whatever simple task given to him. Robin Tan, in the age of 40+ should be truly ambitious (see Karex etc), but his record shows no even a basic managerial role is met. He is only good in making birthday video for his daddy. He has no legacy and a disgrace.

Based on the current situation, the best scenario is Geely 49%, DRBHCOM 31% and Government 20%. Shah Alam plant is closed down to release the land value. Lotus is sold to Geely as separate business dealt. Everyone will be happy: BN will not be blamed for selling the ownership of national asset, DRBHCOM release from the debt-generator, Geely get what he want. Minor shareholders will be happy as well.

I am rather disappointed with the irrelevant comments placed on here. If this trend continues, pro would lose interest and move out from here. No news and good source of information will be shared. If some of you have different interest, there are plenty of other avenues elsewhere.

My conspiracy theory on this is the Vietlott may be a much bigger gold mine to VT and the catch is the profit cannot be revealed. That's why someone constantly presses down the price to quietly absorb open market shares to eventually take the whole corporate private. If it is true, it is a sad day for everyone.

My conspiracy theory is that government at the backseat may have pushed conditions unfriendly to the FSP and wanted DRB to flex its muscles to get the negotiation done. To counter this pressure, DRB asked for another round of financial assistance to remind government to be reasonable.

In the news, only Tanjung Malim plant was mentioned in the foreign partnership. Anyone knows what is going to happen to Shah Alam plant. Since the Tanjung Malim plant is significantly underutilized, will it mean that Shah Alam is destinated for closure to release the land value?

For curiosity, recently B Infinite (Bcard) introduces first Malaysia's mobile payment in collaboration with Wirecard, which is closely related to Alipay to tap into the international market. This represents a new way of making payment, providing significant convenience and also a much safer way (the amount is encoded into the transaction) compared to credit card payment. The technology is somewhat mature. I hope the project is a success and B Infinite will be able to take on the lion share of Malaysia market. Also hope that it will not be another MOL in Nasdaq.

Bjcorp has been misfortunate (or with some elements of mismanagement) by several events (jeju, china mall, sports betting etc), all happens within the last few years. This history, coupled with significantly poor financial performance, investor sentiments are poor, and continue to be so until the provision of a convincing earning and debt reduction. The sports betting incident in 2010 burnt badly many (honestly i do not believe is Bjcorp's fault). Looking into the recent development, the Vietlott project seems to be a success, gaining traction each day. The return will be more significant when a steady state is reached (another 1 year) when the lottery system fully expands to other states. Due to the absent of religion interference and the size of the population, the market is expected to be 9 times bigger and the business is exclusive. Malaysia currency will be expected to be ruther depreciated due to political and economic uncertainties. I will have no doubt that eventually the Vietlott would seek public listed in Vietnam. Therefore against all odds, i have that this stock will rise again, perhaps in another six months. Also, Jeju island project is still a court case. Based on the information gathered from various news, there is a possibility of getting something positive. Hopefully everyone will also see the very bright lights at the end of the darkest tunnel.

A simple calculation based on the information taken from http://www.vir.com.vn/first-foreign-invested-computerised-lottery-services-launched-in-vietnam.html. At a steady stage year , net profit from Vietlott could be RM522 million. Assuming 51% ownership, the prorated net profit is RM 261 million. This translates into 5.5 sen per share per year for maybe more than 15 years. That means the true value of Bjcorp is greatly undermined. Please share your view.

Corporate management is not difficult. World class system is available for adoption. Consensus on vision and mission. Focus on business with core competencies (80/20 rule), set annual target with a higher expectation (to move the company), target breakdown for each level of management to accomplish, process streamline, clear sticks and carrots scheme, routine review on progress (more frequent on core competency businesses and at critical juncture), build out a reliable wolf gang and cultivate a good working culture. See the forest as well as the tree. Pay attention to details particularly on account book. Have a monitoring system to detect any abnormality as early as possible. For any company, succession of leadership is important.

VT is ambitious, no doubt. Nevertheless, he seems to be not binding to a common set of rules, e.g. how he handled Cardiff football club (hiring inexperienced 23 years old to be the head of recruitment).Besides these peculiarities, I feel he is truly talented. His son also needs to come to foreground to build his own legacy.

My opinion is BjCorp is running pretty much like a SME, ad-hoc decision making, management oversight once a deal is obtained, exploit the deal (bend the contractual rule) for short-term gain without considering the risk, no long-term plan - pick up anything along the journey to whereever, lost interest when a business become stable. No sure the role of Robin Tan (no publicity, no share of vision). Only know he likes diving as hobby and also on the company share price. The top management consists of many auditors should be more financially conservative but not sure what is their contribution. My suggestion is to vss some senior top management who are seat-warmers, and replace them with more dynamic young team.

I think the executive director was just giving excuses. Businesses do forecast, it is not a guarantee statement. Forecast allows stakeholders to plan ahead. Malaysia has a rather inaccurate weather forecast, but I haven't heard anyone being held accountable.

Hopefully we can have a good news on AGM to attract the interest of big investors. Currently only small fishes are buying waiting for the wave. Again, as i mentioned, the top management should find a way to sustain the profitability of their businesses. What i see is they have managed to seize a good number of opportunities over the years, but failed to take full advantage on them, mainly due to poor management. Take example, KR is a good and healthy product, but looks old, boring and detached from current generation (muffin is getting smaller and tasteless, baked bean is still been served). Nothing has been done to address the problem, e.g. new interesting menu and layout. Also, compared to Nandos, KR is more pricey.

One funny proposition to beef up the share price, maybe BJCorp can introduce lucky draw every month for the shareholders, with range of prizes from a Mazda, hotel stays, Starbuck and other food outlet vouchers. This help promoting BJ products and will be enticing. BSN done that for their saving account holders.

Proton has to grow out of mindset of being Malaysia car as Malaysia market is more or less saturated. Malaysia is a small country with a population of 30 mil. Vietnam and Thailand have multi times larger population than Malaysia. What Proton should do is to emulate AirAsia to build a company meant for bigger region (e.g. ASEAN). Imagine, Indonesians, Thais, etc all proud to own Proton car because they regard Proton is a local product. Proton will gain the economic scale of mass production.

Whether the price goes up depends on consistant performance of BJCorp top and senior management. From what I see, VT is ambitious, but the second generation is generally weak, of lower caliber and unprepared compared to Danny Tan's. The board of directors composes of untested cum comfortable-to-be-passengers second generation, retired government high rank officers, bunch of auditors and accountants. Where are the industry strategists and visionaries that drive the company forward? No wonder VT coming back.

From the statistics, buying is there as many queue up at 325 and 320. Sentiment may be low as the counter has been at disappointingly downtrend for years. BjCorp faced restructuring previously during the economic crisis. This hampers significantly the confidence of big sharks in this counter. Few failures of megaprojects overseas further added salt to the wound. In this mega projects, instead of attributing the bad luck, I believe the main factor was poor planning, risk management and project management. Now with the property project in vietnam, hope thing turns up well. On the progressive front, many news about BJCorp activities overseas recently. We should know more about it in the upcoming AGM. My advice to VT - get a new and competent management team, retain and grow core businesses (particularly Cosway and ecosway). Why not buying the right of Macdonalds in Malaysia and Singapore? With Starbucks, Macdonalds, Vietlott etc well managed, the target price beyond RM3 could be easily achieved. Maybe my wishful thinking.

cyphua, thanks for the feedback. I beg to differ. 1. the major share holder is not relevant as no one knows the project will come to this stage at the outset. 2. Typhoon vists jeju and large part of korea every year (people are accustomed to it and for sure, the resort has considered that aspect). 3. It is not repair abandoned building, it is just resuming the work (a large part of the construction is still in rather good condition). If after five to six years will be a tough call.
