Talam Transform Berhad reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended January 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company’s revenue was MYR 111,136,000 against MYR 29,223,000 a year ago. Profit from operating activities was MYR 41,496,000 against MYR 280,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 27,355,000 against loss of MYR 6,208,000 a year ago. Profit for the period attributable to owners of the company was MYR 30,035,000 or 0.67 sen per diluted share against loss of MYR 7,354,000 or 0.18 sen per diluted share a year ago. The improvement in revenue is mainly due to gain on disposals of development lands by the Property and Investment Division and additional new commercial tenancies achieved by the Hotel and Recreation Division. The improvement in pretax profit was mainly due to gain on disposal of investment properties of MYR 99.30 million, reduced by provision for impairment on goodwill of MYR 26.82 million, higher finance costs and lower gain on disposal of subsidiaries. For the year, the company’s revenue was MYR 171,712,000 against MYR 212,636,000 a year ago. Profit from operating activities was MYR 60,793,000 against MYR 21,176,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 5,160,000 against loss of MYR 13,994,000 a year ago. Profit for the period attributable to owners of the company was MYR 9,579,000 or 0.21 sen per diluted share against loss of MYR 20,145,000 or 0.50 sen per diluted share a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was MYR 57,335,000 against net cash from operating activities was MYR 15,101,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 1,251,000 against MYR 1,171,000 a year ago.
