I-Berhad expects its earnings to reach a record in 2015, buoyed by its Grand i-Residence project in Kuala Lumpur, which was fully sold at RM2,300 psf on average, reported the media.

Deputy chairman Datuk Eu Hong Chew also expects the recently launched Liberty Tower at its flagship I-City development to contribute to earnings.

Notably, the RM820 million Grand i-Residence is the company’s maiden condo project outside I-City development, while Liberty Tower, which is almost fully-sold, is a fully-furnished 350-unit serviced apartment project.

“I-Berhad’s profit margin in the current year will double that of 2013. Next year will be better, to be helped by our strategic plan to launch up to RM600 million worth of properties a year,” said Eu.

“Indications are that we will hit the internal target. Currently, we have about RM2 billion worth of properties under construction and earnings from some of these developments will be recognised next year.”

The company’s net profit soared by more than fourfold to RM14.23 million in Q3 ended 30 September 2014 from the previous year’s RM2.67 million. Revenue jumped from RM35.53 million to RM77.38 million.

The better results was primarily due to contributions from the company’s property development.

Year-to-date, I-Berhad’s revenue stood at RM192.95 million or an increase of almost 100 percent from RM96.48 million for the period ended 30 September 2013.

The company’s nine-month earnings were fuelled by the higher percentage of recognition from project completion as well as sales for i-SOVO, i-Residence, i-Suites and i-SOHO.

Aside from property development, Eu revealed that I-Berhad’s rapidly growing leisure division is expected to contribute between 25 and 30 percent to this year’s earnings and around 30 percent in 2015.

“We have invested RM70 million to build the leisure division’s rides and attractions. We are spending RM30 million more to increase the number of rides and attractions to make this Berhad(I-City) a vibrant tourist destination.”
