AirAsia is not the only airline supporting the government. This is FAKE NEWS because the National Airline is also contributing a lot.

AirAsia is the only airline BOASTING about it on social media.

The National Airline is doing their service quietly and sincerely. If you are sincere, there is no need to boast and let people know.

Now is the time to use up whatever remaining cash reserve, if any.....,

Why only refund "credit" (and hold customer's cash)? Why not refund cash back to customer?

Below is an extract from the newa

"Low-cost carrier AirAsia Group Bhd and its long-haul arm AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) will ground most of their fleet and suspend flights from March 28 except a small number, mostly within Indonesia and Thailand.

To further manage and contain costs, AirAsia said its management and senior employees will forego their salary, ranging from 100% at the very top to 15%.

AirAsia will temporarily suspend all international and domestic flights in Malaysia from March 28 to April 21, while that of its flights operated by AirAsia Philippines will be suspended from March 20 to April 14.

AAX will also ground most of its planes in Malaysia from March 28 to May 31, while AirAsia X Thailand has suspended its operations for three months since March 16."

Went to SANTAN before the Corona Virus pandemic..... half empty during meal hours... while madam kwan next door has long queues.......

Cheap is not everything... madam kwan's food cost twice or thrice as much... yet people still go.

Now many people are making a hard realisation that AirAsia Lowcost tickets only works when everything goes smoothly. When shit happens..... When you need to refund ... their AVA is useless......

People are begining to realise that you get what you pay for... and in terms of value... Malaysia Airlines is slightly more expensive.. but offers a lot more in VALUE.

Most airlines with big pockets are facing the risk of possible bankruptcy............

Airasia is a lowcost airline with paper thin margin.... whether they really made any money or not remains a mystery....... maybe they did , maybe they didnt earn as much as they claim.

With their cash exhausting fast ..... and most valueable assets already sold..... what else can they sell to raise cash ?

Aircraft leases needs to be paid.... staff wages needs to be paid ...... passenger needs to be refunded .... ...

Most of the diWORSEsification failed.. QPR.... Caterham .... Santan ... ... all these are not generating cash.... all these are burning airasia's cash..

Airlines profit margin is very thin. Most of the airlines are government owned because it has the multiplier effect to the economy as a whole.

I am of the view that AirAsia and its subsidaries never really made money all these years.... they managed to get by with accounting and also sale and leaseback agreement.

If they are cash rich and ethical , where aren't they refunding the passengers who have booked flights to japan , china , and korea?

Malaysia Airlines on the other hand are offering refunds and flight change to their customers.

The Public only see the surface and blame Malaysia Airlines for losing money, but fail to see their contribution to malaysia's economy via tourism, and the supply chains.

AirAsia on the other hand shows "profit" but are not refunding poor passengers, and conducted a questionable sale and leaseback agreement.

We could witness one of the biggest bubble bursting soon.

was this guy joking? i don't see him here anymore.

Sale-and-leaseback agreement is signed for X number of years. Regardless of whether you need 10 planes tomorrow , or 5 planes, you still need to pay the lease for 100 aircrafts for X years because you signed the agreement.

Dear Philip, your advice is an eye opener.

I am studying MasterCard INC . It's PE was highest in 2018, reached as high as 50 in Mar2018, share price was about 183USD.

for the rest of 2018, it was trading between PE40-50, but share price kept climbing to a high of 222USD before retreating to 173USD end of 2018, where is PE also dropped to 34, But because the profit and revenue kept increasing the share price did not drop to 125USD(assuming profit remained constant at the Mar2018 level).
The PE Corrected because the Revenue & profits increased while the share price retreated.

Today, Mastercard INC share price is 341USD, with a PE ratio of approx. 43.

your explanation is a an eye opener.

we are always trying to buy "cheap" stocks based on metrics, but like you said, why is people willing to sell the stock so cheap to you?

Thank You for the eye opener.

Assuming Ahonestly, AirAsia problems have persisted for a long time.

for the longest time, airasia is trying to "cover 10 bottles , with 7 caps". They are just juggling the caps around.

This corona Virus is just a catalyst/trigger...... the real problem is not the virus,

For example, a person who manages their money properly will not have problem in times of recession. But a person who doesn't, will go bankrupt during recession or some other unexpected events.

MR A and B. both invested in property.

A Earns RM-10000
B Earns RM-10000

A buys 3 property worth a total of 1.5 million. MR A. pays an installment of 7500 monthly for all the 3 properties. A is renting out 2 of the properties for a total of RM2400, and lives in the 3rd one. He is often boasting to B about how smart he is in using leverage to invest in 3 properties. And how the rental helps him pay for the properties and that the "good times(rental)" will continue and may increase to 5000 in future where it covers the installment completely. And he boast to B about his paper value which is RM 2 million (paper profit 0.5mil). Because the value of his property has increase, A refinanced his property and got RM500k cash.( he spends all the RM500k on holidays and renovation AKA special dividends)

B buys 1 property worth RM500k. B pays monthly installment of 2500. B lives in the property. B often hears A boasting about his 500k paper profit, and his monthly rental income of RM2400.

A cashflow RM10000-7500+2400 = RM 4900

B cashflow RM10000-2500 = RM7500.

now comes the shit times.... corona virus hits, A runs a travel agency business, a lot of his customer cancels their tours, and A has to refund his customers, and survive without income for a few months. At this time also, his tenants left because they became jobless and is no longer able to pay for the rent.

Assuming A and B both lost their income. and both has savings of RM15000

now A cashflow RM0 - RM7500 - RM2000(after refinancing) = - RM9500

B cashflow RM0 - 2500 = - RM2500

Who do you think can survive for a few months ?

it's obvious... who got caught with the pants down? good times don't last forever....

very soon, A goes to B and ask for help, he has no savings, no cash, and will not last more than 3 months.

B is the one laughing now

If Exec1 and Exec2 found guilty.

It will trigger another round of investigation into the AirAsia Accounts.

When you start to open a can of worms.. more worms will come out.

Probability,

Its wrong to compate other airlines stock performance with airais's.

They are all very different companies in terms of operations , routes, balance sheet.. etc etc.

Airasia is operating on very thin margin(or even none existent) at all. They are barely surviving from pushing the aircraft to their associates and earning the "lease" from the associates and let the associates die.

Have you ever wonder why none of the associates is able to make money till today?

AirAsia is nyawa nyawa ikan. Anytime they can flip...

Thats why u cannot compare the other national airlines with airasia. Their modus operandi of doing business is different

Dear Philip, when valueing a stock, and deciding whether to buy or not...

is EV/Ebitda , PE etc. etc very important ? or they are important, but not the first priority?

For example,
NESTLE was picked as a stock which i believe is good and has sustainable and predictable business.

10 years ago, when it was trading at RM20 something i didn't buy. when it went to 60 something, i didn't buy. at 80 something, i didn't buy. All these while, it's PE was 30x which is considered a PREMIUM.

now it's at 140 something, PE50x which is very expensive.

as you can see, i waited for the the "valuation" to fall before i buy in. IT didn't happen to companies like NESTLE, and instead valuation keep growing.

what is your opinion on this? for example one of the stock that you have , QL, it's not cheap in valuation too. but the valuation just kept growing.

MAS absorbed all the losses... thats why the amount is massive.
