KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Research is maintaining its Neutral call on YTL Poower with its sum-of-parts based fair value tweaked marginally to RM1.86 from RM1.90.

It said on Friday YTL Power’s first half (H1 ended Dec 31, 2013) core earnings of RM570.3mil were largely in line with expectations.

“While there could be some selling pressure should the long-awaited Project 3B be awarded to its competitors, we believe that all is not lost.

“We expect the group to participate in the tender for Project 4A and 4B – comprising 1,000MW each – to be called by the Energy Commission later this year,” it said.

Peter5151, may i know why share distribution will create selling pressure? As we know share holder will be getting 5% free share distribution, will it suppose to attract more buying?

Ok, sorry ya let me clarify this.

My understanding is, mother share - 1.21 exercise price = warrant fair value.

1) So if ytlpwr cut the par value down, how will it affect the current ytlpwr share price? And how will it affect the warrant price too?

2) If come to the circumstances of swap share into ytl, it that force to swap into ytl? Or ytlpwr still will remain listing in bursa?

Sorry for my knowledge is not really good. Haha.

thanks smartly, how about share swap with capital repayment or share swap with special dividend, it is relates to mother share only? I just not very sure about how it will affect the warrant, because i may not wish to convert to neither ytlpwr or ytl mother share, i just wish the current situation can bring up ytlpwr mother share and i can enjoy the premium diff between the exercise price. Kindly teach me, banyak thank you ya! :)

just to share my inexperience thoughts, this trench may lead to privatisation.
base on the mother share now 1.87, if YTLPWR really very "Ngiao" like YTLCMT, they offer just 10% premium price to buy back the rest for privatise.

1.87 x 10% = 2.06
2.06 - 1.21 exercise price of warrant = 0.84 (real value of warrant
0.84 - 0.56 (for those bought before today and never do conversion) = 0.28 (+50% gain)

I will take this risk to be seem the better return under the protected risk (warrant is behind value from exercise price)

hello, can anyone teach me coz i am not really experience,

why we don buy in warrant but not converting to mother share? as we know YTLPWR mother is accumulating by its company or other institutions, the demand was created, the share price is stable, and if this is lead to privatisation, they will need to offer premium from from now 1.87. Thus, the warrant will realize its value by higher percentage. then why should we buy warrant and convert and sell again for few thousand?

seeking for opinion, thanks :)
