UPDATES ON LEGAL PROCEEDINGS BY BERJAYA JEJU RESORT LIMITED
We refer to our announcement dated 6 November 2015 in relation to the JDC Lawsuit (as defined below).

As set out in the earlier announcement, Berjaya Land Berhad’s (“BLB”) 72.6% subsidiary, Berjaya Jeju Resort Limited (“BJR”), had instituted legal proceedings in the Republic of Korea against Jeju Free International City Development Center (“JDC”) for breach of contract and for losses and damages incurred as a result thereof (“JDC Lawsuit”).

Pursuant to the financing arrangement for Phase 1 of the Jeju Project and following the suspension of the development works thereon, JDC had repurchased part of the lands (under Phases 2 to 9) for Korean Won 107.0 billion (equivalent to about RM374.5 million) and the cash proceeds were used to fully settle the loan outstanding with the financiers and to partially settle the Phase 1 construction cost due and owing to the main contractor.

On completion of the land repurchased by JDC, BJR terminated the land sale and purchase agreement in respect of the remaining land under Phase 1 of the Jeju Project.

The Seoul Central District Court was accordingly informed of the abovementioned developments
during the first court hearing of the JDC Lawsuit held on 7 March 2016. The next court hearing has been fixed on 4 April 2016.

holding stake issue...as 50.1% is consider subsidiary. So if holding market capital is worth 1M, but subsidiary market capital worth 2M, it is still possible.

50.1% x 2M = 1.002M

market cap is base on retail trade price. if a subsidiary need to dispose off in one time, sometime a discounted rate or premium rate will apply.

that is the word. we should not subtract the currency forward to obtain the cash in bank balance. That figure is to let you get the info of net US Forex exposure risk. The USD deposit fund equivalent to RM333,737,000.00 is able to pay off the RM278,896,000.00 long term loan and it could save some interest.

However, to accumulate such a huge cash is not an easy job.
It is a well conduct of account.
The only thing is not optimize the fund, otherwise more benefit will realized.

I am more interested here is if you have money in left pocket, why still take borrowing to keep it in your right pocket. And pay some extra fee.
