UPDATE IN CERTIFIED RESERVES AT THE RAKUSHECHNOYE FIELD

Sumatec Resources Berhad (Sumatec), the independent oil and gas production company focused on proven assets in Central Asia conducted a reserves update along with technical evaluation of the Rakushechnoye oil and gas field in Kazakhstan, based on updated production, stratigraphic log data and gas field development agreements.
Sumatec completed its restructuring process late last year, in which the company invested 95M USD into the Rakushechnoye Field and signed a gas development agreement with Markmore Energy (Labuan) Sdn Bhd on the 10th December 2013 to develop and commercialise the gas from the field.
Since taking over the operations of the field, Sumatec has started its workover program to ramp up the production to 2000 bbls per day by end of 2014. Sumatec also reviewed all of the stratigraphic log data and recent production data with SRK Consulting (Australasia) Pty Ltd (SRK) to update the February 2013 reserves report.
SRK independently verified the technical evaluation and prepared a reserves update in May 2014 in accordance with 2007 petroleum Resources Management System (SPE 2007) and guidelines for application of the Petroleum Resources Management System, November 2011 (SPE, 2011).
The updated reserves are based on the same northern structure as the previous report, with one adjacent exploration area in the south of the concession area. The updated reserves for oil and gas have both increased, with most notably the oil reserves increasing by more than 30% as shown below in the table.

As reported by Sumatec CEO, Mr Christopher Layton Dalton, “The increase in reserves is the first significant achievement for Sumatec with this asset. An additional 10 million barrels of oil is now available under 2P reserves to Sumatec (worth an estimated 175M USD* in net profit from oil sale) without paying any more than the initial 95M USD.”
This announcement is dated 23 June 2014.

*175M USD is based on 100USD per bbl Brent Price of Oil and 35USD per bbl net profit of which Sumatec is entitled to 50% of, after two million bbls of oil has been produced.
