DNeX Sees Revenue Stream Spread Across Three Core Segments

Dagang NeXchange Berhad said it is actively diversifying its customer base and revenue streams across its three core business segments of Technology, Energy and Information Technology.

Speaking at the Annual General Meeting Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir Jamalullail, Executive Chairman of DNeX said the group has significantly broadened its customer base and scaled up its operations across three core business segments. In the Technology segment, the Group has onboarded several new customers in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence (“AI”), health science and electric vehicle (“EV”) sectors. Product testing and qualifications with customers are on-going, and we anticipate higher manufacturing volumes upon completion. Following a 20 percent capacity expansion that was completed in 2023, the group is well-positioned for the upcoming industry upcycle.

The Group said it is also exploring opportunities in the recently launched National Semiconductor Strategy notably in grants and subsidies for establishing new manufacturing and R&D facilities.

In the Energy segment, the group now boasts a geographically diverse late-life O&G portfolio, including assets in the UK (Anasuria, Avalon, and Fyne) and Malaysia (Meranti Cluster, A Cluster, and Abu Cluster). In addition, efforts are underway to upgrade the Kemaman Supply Base workshop to enhance service offerings and broaden capabilities in the downstream sector.

For the IT division segment, DNeX is positioning itself as a key player in supporting the Government’s digital transformation agenda.

Strong oil prices to buoy upstream O&G companies
PETALING JAYA: Companies involved in the oil and gas (O&G) upstream production and services as well as equipment sub-sector will be the main beneficiaries of strong oil prices, which are expected at US$80 to US$82 per barrel.

Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd head of equity sales Vincent Lau is positive about the outlook for the O&G sector with the current Brent crude oil price remaining supportive of Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (PETRONAS) domestic capital expenditure (capex) activity for 2024-2026.

“Recent earnings of O&G companies have continued to improve compared with 2023 due to more work activities.

“Our forecast for Brent crude oil price is that it will average US$80 per barrel for 2024 due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and elevated global demand for the commodity.
“The direct beneficiaries of higher Brent crude oil price are Dagang Nexchange Bhdand and Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd, as both are involved in upstream production activities at O&G oilfields locally and internationally.

传海德退出竞标 剩迪耐铁达争NIISe项目

（吉隆坡25日讯）有消息指出，迪耐（DNEX，4456，主板科技股）和铁达（THETA，9075，主板科技股）已从10家竞标者当中脱颖而出，入选全国移民综合系统项目（NIISe）项目的最终遴选。

这也意味着，之前纳入竞标名单的海德（HTPADU，5028，主板科技股），将不再参与其中。

根据财经周刊《The Edge》报道，有消息人士指出，政府已将范围缩小至两家，预计将在本周举行澄清会议，并签署合约。

惟消息人士指出，海德退出此价值10亿令吉的项目令人意外，原因也未知。

另一位消息人士同样确定海德退出竞选，不过，剩余的两家公司，本身出价就存在巨大的差异，即有约1亿令吉的差别，且存在一些与合规性相关的问题。

消息人士表示，政府目前会要求双方进行审查工作，同时也对成本超支或变更订单持谨慎态度，因为这会增加成本。

Investor should know which research analyst is accurate most of the times...Personally, I think if the brokers advise were so valuable then they would have buying stocks not selling advises. After all, rely on your self decision... make your own strategy!

People don't realise that every time you blame someone or something else you are in some way responsible for your situation as well. I guess it all comes down to personal accountability.

Focus on the long game!
Nobody can be right all the time and nobody can be wrong all the time. Each investor should know whose research report is accurate most of the times.
By the way, there's always a disclosures and disclaimer statement at the end of the research report... please read thru' it carefully if you know what I mean...

Short selling is a risky trade but can be profitable if executed correctly with the right information backing the trade. In a short sale transaction, a broker holding the shares is typically the one that benefits the most, because they can charge interest and commission on lending out the shares in their inventory.
People also get it wrong when they try to buy/sell shares by judging future market movements. Nobody can predict future market movements.
The question is, do you still believe those price target that provided by the stockbrokers?

Do not rely on the so called brokerage reports... Just use them for information! Focusing on stock fundamentals.
Your decision should be based on your investment horizon. If you intend to hold a stock for a long period, you should not bother much about the broker's ratings. Usually, brokerages give buy, hold and sell or outperform and under-perform ratings and a target price for 6-18 months. While the view is for a specified period, it can be altered in the the event of a big change affecting the company. Remember, your stockbroker would starve to death if you adopt buy and hold strategy!
No matter who you are dealing with (especially i3 investor forum), remember to consider motives of any person sitting across the table from you. Virtually everyone has their own agenda.
Charlie Munger once said, "Never underestimate the power of incentives", and be aware of the potential conflicts of interest between broker reports and their corporate clients.
