And now we have this missing jet mystery.

Low-grade buffoonery

People are asking many questions which only seem to be getting the same answers from the Malaysian leaders. It is either that we are still investigating or we cannot tell you now or we are waiting for information from assisting partner governments or worst, “don’t speculate” warnings.

Ten days have come to pass and the world does not know in which direction the huge plane flew in. Is it then not surprising if we read of governments telling Malaysia not to withhold information?

The question is will this aircraft fate too end up like the Altantuya fate? Pray God it does not. Whether it is one life or 239 lives, a government, its institutions and its leaders are not just accountable to in a life of the hereafter but they need to be held responsible right here on planet earth.

The UMNO-BN government must solve the mysteries – both the Altantuya and the Aircraft crisis. To remain indifferent is a crime far worse than the very crime committed against Altantuya or the allowing of a wayward aircraft to go un-noticed by the Malaysian defense to start with for now.

Global leaders cannot treat these matters as domestic issues or even as sovereign privileges. The US President who is gung-ho in coming to Malaysia too cannot ignore this mysterious nature of the government here. To do so is an insult to all the Americans.

Let justice prevail for humanity please. - MAILBAG

Umno bodohkan Melayu, kata Dr Siti Mariah

| March 18, 2014

Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud turut mendakwa bahawa Umno kin mengaplikasi sentimen perkauman.

Hanya 541 undi rosak direkodkan.

The Opposition, on the other hand, claims there is no press freedom.

The US Country Report also paints a gloomy picture of press freedom in Malaysia.

US Secretary of State John Kerry officially released the Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. It did not paint a rosy picture about Malaysia. “The government exerted control over news content, both in print and broadcast media, punished publishers of “malicious news” and banned, restricted, and limited circulation of publications believed to threaten public order, morality, or national security. In December the Home Ministry temporarily suspended the printing permit of The Heat, a recently established weekly news magazine,” it said. Read more, share and debate. You decide.

Malaysia bohong mengenai MH370

Berikut ini adalah berita daripada Want China Times.Tanpa melaporkan nama pegawai Malaysia yang menjadi sumber beritanya itu, akhbar online itu menuduh Malaysia sebagai berbohong. Ikuti terjemahannya berikut :

A Malaysian official involved in the search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has contradicted public claims from the Malaysian government by saying that its military knowingly and continuously tracked the plane on radar for more than an hour after communication with ground control was severed in the early hours of March 8.

The anonymous air force official told Chinese web portal Tencent that despite initial claims that they could not be certain, the Malaysian military knew very well that the plane they were tracking on radar was flight MH370 and followed it as it climbed above the Boeing 777's approved altitude of 45,000ft and took a sharp turn to the west before descending unevenly to 23,000ft on the approach to the island of Penang. The plane then climbed back to 35,000ft and headed northwest towards the Indian Ocean, with the final reading showing it above the tiny island of Pulau Perak in the Strait of Malacca at around 2.40am.

Teo Nie Ching (张念群)
It is idiotic for Chew Mei Fen to blame the death of 6 people due to drug abuse in the recent Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) in Kuala Lumpur to the Selangor government's failure to curb social ills in the Pakatan Rakyat state.

First of all, FMFA was not organized in Selangor, but in Kuala Lumpur, and Bukit Jalil Stadium is under the management of the Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia, a federal statutory body with Ministerial representatives from Ministry of Sports.

Furthermore, Selangor Government was never the organizer of the event, so how did the recent deaths due to drug abuse at the FMFA reflect the failure of the Pakatan state government in managing social problems in their state, as stated by Chew Mei Fen in her statement?

After scrutinizing the tragedy through microscope, I finally find one tiny connection between the disaster and Selangor. One of them who died from suspected drug overdoses was from Selangor. However, the other 5 deceased were from Perlis (2), Negeri Sembilan (1) and Kuala Lumpur (2), where BN are the ruling party. Chew Mei Fen needs to explain how these lives could have been saved should Pakatan had been more effective in implementing our policies?

If anyone should be held responsible for this tragedy, it will be none other than PDRM. Shouldn’t Chew Mei Fen ask our PDRM, why were drugs so easily available in Malaysia?

I urge Chew Mei Fen to do more homework before giving comments as her statement merely reflects her ignorance.

Malaysia calls for transparent process in UN secretary-general election – Bernama

Malaysia tak malu...cannot put it's own house in order & now want the UN to follow what she says, really idiotic.

Malaysia has called on the member states of the United Nations (UN) to view seriously the need for a transparent and inclusive process in the election and appointment of its secretary-general.

Charge d'Affaires and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Malaysian Permanent Mission to the UN Raja Reza Raja Zaib Shah, said this was important as the secretary-general represented all the member states of the UN and not just the Security Council.

"In this regard, we call on the implementation of past resolutions on the issue for future selections and appointments of the secretary-general," he said in his statement at the ad-hoc working group on the revitalisation of the General Assembly in New York on March 4.

In his speech, which was faxed to Bernama here today, Raja Reza also reiterated Malaysia's recommendation that the president of the General Assembly (PGA) should be allocated the necessary resources needed for him or her to perform the role.

"The role and activities of the PGA continues to increase over the years. Today, we see a greater number of issues and agenda items being considered by the General Assembly when compared to a few years ago," he added.

Raja Reza said Malaysia's delegation also underscored the importance of conducting the annual elections of the non-permanent members of the UN Security Council (UNSC) and members of the Economic and Social Council earlier than October, he said.

According to him, Malaysia believed that such an arrangement would allow in-coming non-permanent members of the UNSC to make better preparations to helm their responsibility.

He pointed out that by bringing the election date forward, the members concerned would also have ample time to strengthen their missions in New York and allow their officers to familiarise themselves with the wide ranging issues in the council. – Bernama, March 5, 2014.

If PM won’t speak, I will

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claims various foreign news agencies have interviewed him on the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner and that others will do the same.

KAJANG, March 19:

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he has to speak about Malaysian Airlines’ missing jetliner on behalf of the prime minister as the latter could not do so.

The opposition leader said that various foreign news agencies had interviewed him on the matter, while others will do the same including famed CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour.

“They want to speak to me directly as they could not get any explanation from the prime minister who gave a statement but did not take any questions,” he told a crowd during a ceramah at Sungai Kantan here last night.

The Permatang Pauh member of parliament was alluding to Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s press conference on Saturday where he read a statement on the search operations for the missing Boeing 777.

Anwar said such actions only revealed the failure of a leader.

The de-facto PKR leader went on to recall the time the Japanese Red Army held hostages at the AIA building — which housed several embassies — in 1975, praising then prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein for being more “firm, strict and smarter” than his son, Najib.

Anwar said that Razak appointed then Home and Information Minister Tun Muhammad Ghazalie Shafie to negotiate the release of the 53 hostages.

“The whole world praised Malaysia on how we handled the issue. But now, they are criticising us,” he said.

On a related matter, the former deputy prime minister said Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein had been inconsistent for “not honouring his commitment” after opposition MPs were left out of a special briefing on the missing plane.

The Defence and acting Transport Minister had yesterday stated that the search for the aircraft was above politics a day after only BN MPs were invited for the special briefing.

However, local media today reported Hishammuddin as saying the briefing had been held because BN MPs had asked for it. He added that Pakatan MPs were not invited for for the briefing at KL Sentral because they had not asked for one.

Anwar went on to state that the entire statement and the manner of which the crisis was being handled were full of contradictions.

“The radar is back on them in the issue of governance, free media, independence and transparency,” he said.

Anwar also said that the party was committed to help MH370′s Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, who is a PKR life member but had to be very careful as it could be used by BN, whom he claimed would suggest that PKR was interfering in the matter.

The party, he said, would allow for the investigations to be concluded before dealing with it.

Anwar: Effort to link me to MH370 backfired

PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim says attempts by foreign media and pro-Umno bloggers to link him with MH370 pilot had backfired as the press are now engaging him on the crisis.

anwar ibrahimKAJANG: PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim claimed that Umno’s effort to link him with the missing MH370′s pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah had backfired, as the foreign media are now engaging him on the matter.

“They (Umno) say I’m politicising the matter but I am not. I am just presenting the facts. Today (CNN’s chief international correspondent) Christiane Amanpour wanted to interview me.

“I had to choose either Amanpour or Sungai Sekamat but I chose Sungai Sekamat. She will interview me tomorrow afternoon.

“They (Umno) even tried to link me to the flight but I don’t know how to fly planes,” said Anwar, during a ceramah session in Sungai Sekamat last night.

Recently, several foreign press and pro-Umno bloggers had said that MH370 pilot Zaharie was close to Anwar and even attended the latter’s sodomy hearing at the Court of Appeal on March 7.

A livid Anwar lashed out at the reports and said that it was unfair to link the pilot to a possible hijack just because he is a PKR supporter.

On Zaharie, Anwar admitted that he knew Zaharie through his son-in-law and the pilot is a PKR life member.

He also said that an Indonesian broadcaster, Channel 1, had interviewed him a few days ago and asked whether Zaharie was disappointed with the court’s judgment in sentencing him to five years imprisonment.

“I told them that it wasn’t just Zaharie who is disappointed. Many Malaysians are disappointed too,” said Anwar.

Hurling brickbats at Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, Anwar said that the several foreign media had suggested that the prime minister was unfit to helm the country, due to the government’s poor management of the crisis.

“Jakarta Post said that Malaysia under Najib is mad. They are telling that it is best for me to take over his job because they get answers from me,” claimed Anwar.

Touching on MH370, Anwar questioned on how the authorities could have failed to notice that the plane had turned back when they had the technology to do so.

“There is a radar facility in Gong Kapas, Terengganu which was purchased when I was the Finance Minister. There is also a command and control communication centre in Labuan.

“We have the capability to identify the plane. So why did the army chief take two days before announcing that the flight made a turn around?” asked the Permatang Pauh MP.

The ceramah enters its final week before polling day on March 23. PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also Anwar’s wife, would be facing off MCA vice-president Chew Mei Fun in the by-election.
