-'KUALA LUMPUR (May 21): Frontken Corp Bhd is unaffected by sanctions from the US targeting tech giant Huawei, as a key supplier for the firm still requires the Malaysian company's services in producing Apple's A13 chip, said Maybank Investment Bank.

The investment bank said TSMC will continue to provide security updates for Huawei's Kirin 980 processor and supply Kirin 985 processors as its early evaluation shows that it meets export control regulations.

The tech giant is still reliant on TSMC for its processors as Huawei is only able to manufacture chips as small as 14nm, while TSMC is able to produce chips that are 7nm and smaller.

Moreover, TSMC is also is gearing up for volume production of the A13 chip, which will power new iPhones this year, which use the 7nm and 7nm processes.

The investment bank believes this will bode well for Frontken given its the precision-cleaning expertise.

Making car parts is risky biz. Car designs change so fast, now use gas, tomorrow us battery, next day use solar. Glotec keep losing with every change. Glotec share price fell from 12 sen to 5 sen already, do you know?

Glotec is a dumb-bell even when doing its core business- selling
gas, how is glotec going to be successful making car components? The company has to import new machinery and train workers. All this will only make the company bottom line very red. Investors will not be able to make money for a very long time....sigh!

laulau you show links to bursamalaysia that reveal negative profit negative everything of glotec. How are investors supposed to have great faith in this company and its directors? So impossible!

We are not aware of any other possible explanation to account for the said rise in volume apart from the Group’s continuing improved and satisfactory performances as shown in our Quarterly Report for the 1st Quarter ended 30 April, 2016 as announced to BURSA recently and the increase in the prices of gold and gold mining stocks globally recently following the vote of exit by Britain from the European Union and other uncertainties in the financial market, in which our Group being involved in gold mining and related activities probably benefited from it.
