（吉隆坡19日讯）成功集团（BJCORP,3395,主板工业产品服务组）执行主席丹斯里陈志远对旗下资产估值遭低估感到失望，明年起将落实系列重大企业活动，包括考虑将成功置地（BJLAND,4219,主板消费产品服务组）除牌，以及7-11控股（SEM,5250,主板消费产品服务组）私有化等。

同时，他也打算分拆酒店资产到新加坡上市，并考虑为成功媒体（BJMEDIA,6025,主板电讯媒体组）注入新资产来摆脱PN17公司行列。

陈志远在媒体汇报会上表示，7-11控股、成功食品和成功置地等资产估值遭到低估，相信这些资产值得更多估值。

不过，陈志远对明年公司展望感到乐观，主要是尽管经济环境不明朗，该集团各业务表现依旧稳定。

“公司价值已经下跌很多，不可能变得更糟了。”

询及集团未来计划，陈志远披露，该集团有意将酒店资产于新加坡交易所上市，再将成功置地除牌。

“我们现仍在草拟相关计划。成功置地估值遭到低估，我们希望将之除牌下市，同时为股东创造更好的退场选项。”

同时，他说，成功集团有意脱售京都四季酒店，希望整个计划能在未来60日内完成。

“我们现正与几位潜在买家洽商，预期可获利3亿5000万至4亿美元（约14亿6000万至16亿7000万令吉）。我们也计划将部份脱售所得回退股东。”

此外，陈志远也放眼为成功媒体注入资产，以摆脱PN17公司行列。

“我们不确定会否保留《太阳报》（THE SUN），主要是公司的核心业务将彻底转换。”

至于7-11控股，他说，这家便利店集团的估值遭到低估，该集团正探讨将之私有化。

“我们正与银行洽商，可能是透过我或成功集团展开私有化活动。”

最后，陈志远表示，U-Mobile已取得整年营运盈利（EBITDA），加上旗下用户庞大，拟在2019至2020年期间在马股上市。

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 24): Evergreen Fibreboard Bhd's net profit nearly doubled to RM11.96 million or 1.41 sen a share in the second quarter ended June 30, 2018 (2QFY18), from RM6.2 million or 0.73 sen a share last year, contributed by foreign exchange (forex) gain, versus a forex loss.

Quarterly revenue was also up 11.94% to RM289.92 million from RM258.98 million in 2QFY17 due to higher sales volume of the group's products, especially from a full commercial run of a particle board plant in Segamat, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

For the cumulative six months ended June 30, 2018 (1HFY18), Evergreen Fibreboard saw its net profit increased 11.88% to RM18.73 million or 2.21 sen a share, from RM16.74 million or 1.98 sen a share in the previous year. Revenue was 8.97% higher at RM554.09 million, from RM508.48 million in 1HFY17.

Moving forward, Evergreen Fibreboard said competition in the industry continued to heighten with new capacities being launched within the region, while demand for panel boards and furniture remains intact.

"Coupled with uncertainties generated from a possible full-fledged trade war between the two largest economies of the world, the group expects a more challenging operating environment in the second half of the year with heighten price competition," said Evergreen Fibreboard.

Nonetheless, a stronger US dollar will help to mitigate some of the effects from pricing pressure, said Evergreen, adding that production cost is expected to be lower thanks to falling log and glue prices.

Despite the challenging operating environment, the group expects satisfactory results in next quarter.

Evergreen Fibreboard shares closed 3.5 sen or 5.93% lower at 55.5 sen for a market capitalisation of RM469.44 million.

KUALA LUMPUR (Jul 23): The Government said it has no plan to reissue a sports betting licence to tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan's 70%-owned vehicle Ascot Sports Sdn Bhd, or any other operator.

In a written answer to a Parliamentary question by Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said (BN-Kuala Krau), the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said it had agreed to reissue a bookies licence to Ascot Sports on Jan 13, 2010,

But the licence renewal approval was revoked on Oct 5, 2010 and the security deposit of RM10 million, in the form of bank guarantee, was returned entirely to Ascot Sports, said MoF.

In 2010, Tan had planned to inject his 70% stake in Ascot Sports into Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) for RM525 million cash. But he called off the plan when then Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak decided to backtrack on the government's decision to issue the betting licence.

Tan’s son Datuk Robin Tan holds the remaining 30% equity stake in Ascot Sports.

In his question today, Ismail asked the MoF to state the rationale for the government to approve the betting licence to Ascot Sports.

However, MoF said there was no intention to approve in the first place.

Ismail's query came amid speculation that Najib's 2010 decision may be revised following the BN’s loss in the May 9 general election.
