Im doubtful of a much worse quarterly, happy with this quarter. Let's see.

Looking at the bright side, first time I'm seeing no red after QR in a long while. Assuming results are within expectations now instead of under-performing.

Great observations by observatory, as usual.

RM88mil is after tax, ofcourse people compare to profit after cukai makmur la. Pakai la otak and mata bila baca. If you want to compare PBT, it was a drop from 218mil (22% margin) to 134mil (15% margin).

It looks negative when you zoom in and do analysis on just 2 quarters. But bearing covid in mind, it is pleasant to see that while our lives have gone back to normal, Harta is still making more than pre-covid. Just zoom out and look at August 2019, you will notice there is an increased in revenue and profit despite lower profit margin. Management has communicated about the falling margin and we can only hope that this stabilises over the next few quarters.

I don't see major negatives based on my own reading and comments here so far. Feel free to enlighten me if you have different views.

Previous quarterly results announced in 10 May, not even 3 full months has passed, yet someone said "missed dateline" and concluded that it is going to holland with results announcement only coming end of month. I guess this is how false rumor start to spread.

I'm also cautiously optimistic to see some profits, would need extra explanations from management if there are losses. QR should come before end of the week, whether today or not, nobody knows. DYOR, be responsible for your own money/investment, you dont know which strangers online holds stocks or don't. Trolls everywhere.

Well I guess we can't be running around calling glove stocks a safe bet any more with all the challenges Malaysian glove producers are facing. Can only hope that the increased risk has an increase potential reward (which the potential reward is definitely much more at the current pricing as compared to a few months back), but high risk high return is not for everyone.

God damn EPF is really net selling now, major dump on every rebound in the past weeks.

Yeah, rate hike & inflation will definitely impact many companies. That's why harta's strong balance sheet and good cash flow gives it premium over other glove counters. I'm very afraid as well to look at harta's future QR, if it follows suit with TG, then it will be very concerning. I'm hoping the previous QR's profit can be sustained, if not better.

@Natsuko, Supermax have not clear their issue with CBP isn't it? Why are you posting Supermax's news here? Harta did not get into any trouble with CBP or human rights issue. Classic fearmongering seriously.

@kaitan yeah, i dont want to be fearmongering saying it will definitely happen. But living in denial like how we did before Rus invaded Ukr and thinking that "impossible it will happen" and "its too costly to do that in modern world" is clearly wrong. It can happen, we can only hope all these big boys learn from Rus Ukr and finds the win win solution instead of lose lose.

@ccpool >DCA method definitely works and is probably the only way for you to go through bear market but please don't go buy at random places and end up with no capital to buy the real dip.

Yeah that's the biggest lesson learnt so far this year, for me. Should've gauge total capital to be invested using timeline and then invest patiently, went it too quick and that's a mistake. No wonder long term investors takes long time to slowly deploy their capital in small portions.

@cerubic I'm not saying it will happen, but if China do anything to Taiwan, then we could be looking at sanctions in the best case scenario for Harta & Malaysian glove makers and WW3 in the worst case scenario for everyone.

I think Harta is still darling of glove lover, just that gloves as a whole not looking very bright now (share price wise).

High inflation, Russian-Ukr war, China-Taiwan tensions - overall economic condition don't look good. If anyone has stock suggestions that can strive through these adverse conditions, kindly enlighten me. I am not selling just to put money in the bank.

Rough day for whole Bursa, almost 900 stocks in red (vs only almost 200 stocks in green) as of the time of this comment.

Basically, if you have better use for the money - then sell, chances are not great for Harta to rebound drastically in the short term. If you have no better use for the money and is going to let it depreciate in the bank anyway (inflation), then might as well stay invested, you could be surprised with what you have 3-5 years down the road. :) Ofcourse, if you're holding, read the company's announcements and articles about it (if any), lookout significant changes in your understanding of the management/business of the company, and exit if need be.

@Investmalaysiaa then don't buy any Malaysian stocks unless they're directly purchased by Bershire Hathaway. Such crazy comparison, irony that your username is invest malaysia. Warren Buffet was against investing in tech stocks because he don't understand it well enough, and as time goes, it seems he may have obtained more knowledge about the tech sector and selected a few good stocks for investing purposes. Look into the industry and see how Malaysian companies are competing in that space and then choose for yourself.
