Purchases are bigger number of shares history sales are small….same old story, it would be good to clear out the small holders….

Can’t imagine selling 100 or 200 shares can be economic!

Don’t completely discount HMTM! I have a contact at one of the big Pharma companies in US involved in drug trials and deals regularly with FDA…according to him whilst FDA are picky HMTM is promising despite the placebo issue and may get approval providing test result are replicated over a period. So it is very possible!

This forum is suppose to be for discussing and highlighting news on Genting which may impact share price positively or negatively in a constructive and respectful way. By definition, those of us and hopefully most of people in this form, (otherwise why waste time here) who are invested in Genting are positive on Genting. What we have now is constant bickering and personal attacks, on each other rendering this forum useless. Some of the information both negative and positive is cooked up. Sad state of affairs!

I personally think the results are not too bad, cash is being generated and operating conditions are working, the non cash flow items such impairments and depreciation are accounting related. The fact is Revenue is rising, hopefully one off times that have impacted the bottom line will go. 1st Qtr will be interesting to see if impairments and depreciation remain elevated …there must come a time when depreciation peaks and trends lower. As to impairments they are specific business related write down of value and they can easily go up again. There will be upward surprises in 2023 for sure …..wait and see.

EBITA V Accounting Profit…..a perennial discussion.

Depreciation has no impact on cash flow …..worth noting. Impairment cost of RM 394m is one off. So 1st Qtr will report better numbers.

The only thing certain is that at some point these doggy characters insiders will start buying again and make 10% they do this 4 times year ….not bad result!

Air Asia up 7% and Gamuda has been star performer …..and yet this Genting struggles big time to make headway! Defies logic, as I said before big problem that we have a single dominant shareholder who can cause significant damage by trading ….we had this with Myeg, Serbadk, and many more …..Bursa is full of doggy owners who lack ethics and corporate governance and may even be part of a syndicate as it is easy for them to make money from trading shares

Even Airasia share price is rallying whilst Genting struggles…it has to be internal folks dumping for sure …means the results may be well below expectations …..

Analysts have conflict of interests….they promote shares they have interests in. That said we need to take other issues into account such as political risks as well related party interests. I think Genting is below NAV for a reason, and I think the main risk is party related transactions which quite often have nothing to do with business dynamics. Conclusion is analysts recommendations are one elements of many other information that you need to consider…..if it is worth a buy.

Worth highlighting is that non gaming revenue is up 90%! When gamblers return, the performance will explode for sure as visitation to Sing are increasing. Visit g Sing next week and struggling to find decent hotel as rooms are fully booked! Sing has gained as HK has suffered

What I am hearing from medical professionals particularly from U.K. is that TAuRX is promising and approval may not be an issue despite the placebo issue. Apparently there is a precedence, and hope FDA is not totally corrupt as suggested. Let’s see you never know!

Sing performance is above consensus that applies to dividend, expectation was 2.5 for the year

Excellent results despite increase in cost of sales due to inflation. Will Genting price react positively, should but we never know, it depends on who is selling the shares and dumping them can’t be just retailers surely! That said many stocks have corrected globally. My worry is major share behaviour as well as small retail customers who sell for small profit…..if you look at institutional holdings some interesting fund houses have increased stakes

Big question is the correction Genting specific or wider market concern? If you at the markets there is market wise correction. That said I w worry about insiders playing dirty games running into result season. Whilst there is normally a trading ban, they find a way to dispose big ..this has happened frequently, that is why a big single investor is a problem ….as they can dispose off any time …I have no doubt as to Gentings prospects particularly wen you add TAURx into the equation, as many medical experts say that the news is positive. The big question remains how the majority shareholder and his band of syndicates behave between now and then!

Genting Singapore went up slightly? This suggests dumping of shares in Genting Group by owners perhaps?

Nothing to do with this tax stuff, reality is all the markets are under stress again …due to US inflation numbers.

As I have said earlier ..very strange behaviour, small moves selling starts. These are retailers selling either individually or as part of syndicate …..I can’t Imagine people are using algorithms, they are not that sophisticated…..but you never know. For algorithm to work it has to trade quickly and connected to stock market and low commission. I think it is small retailers making money for next meal!

Ok, another holiday and Monday as well! Too many holidays…but good for Genting! Let’s see it reflect in the results…1st Quarter 2023 will definitely see big improvement from previous year. Banking on Gent Sing shining

It’s funny folks keep saying invest more as it goes down…all well in principle! Liquidity is not on tap! Money has alternative cost. Also there is the issue of over investing in a single stock! Concentration risk!

As i and warned, Genting has very strange share dealing patterns. When it corrects it corrects in a big way, when it rises there is lot of profit taking. This correction is interesting as it has gone below, 4.98, could be insiders selling, or simply small holders as the volumes are relatively low….another point is that the selling has impacted Sing as well ….so is the results, as by now internal guys would know the results.

Profit takers after CNY….let’s see next wave of purchases. Volume v very low.

Even without TauRX, Genting is very good prospects, as from business point of view the worst is over. There was considerable underperformance of the business prior to CV19, even then the valuation would suggest price of 7. Plus, add Las Vegas coming in on stream since then technically it should be more than 7. The you add the prospects of Drug approval then anything could happen. The only issue I see, is the owner share transaction and constant profit taking that may slow things up.

AngTalyor, I am hearing there is a very good chance of getting regulatory approval for the drug. Is it your thinking as well? If it happens is it likely to be by June 2023?

Let’s see what holds today? Up, consolidation or little correction. Hopefully momentum is maintained, we will see more action on Monday as people return from holidays. HK market is on major uptrend so hopefully there will be some positive impact here

Very low volume, lot of sells but well absorbed. There will be lot of sales in this helpfully upward journey. I still can’t get around all these 100 to 500 share sells……can’t be cost effective?

We all know Genting B should be more than 5 at least 5.37 by now! Why is it struggling, compare Genting to other recovery stocks, all way ahead in global markets …yet Genting is struggling to move past 5? Why, ask your self. Look HK, U.K., US to mention few markets where recovery stocks have moved significantly. It is to do with investor and ownership profile and nothing to do with some of the risks which have been touted, in this forum. As to moving to 10 Rm, right now let’s hope it can get past 5! The alternative forgone investing in this counter is significant. Let’s hope Rabbit does the trick!

Being kept in a tight trading pattern. Strange lots of 100 share deals! Let’s see where all this heads. The price is being held for a reason…..it could go either way….hopefully higher and through 5 RM resistance.

Need to get through RM 5….there will be some resistance, but should get some momentum as we head towards Feb 24 year end reporting. Before that Sing results will be interesting!

Big purchases at the end, suggests perhaps foreign funds? Let’s hope strength continues tomorrow.

Around this time the full year numbers are available in draft form internally……there is definitely planned sales taking place, could be internal stakeholders or just folks who want to take profit….I have a s easy feeling that it is internal.

As predicted…..unlike other markets…Ali Baba…..Tencent seen good action Genting has v good prospects but shareholder profile and other insider related share activity is a big issue here in Malaysia

Michael Chan, thanks for sharing UOB analysts insight on Genting underperformance in relative terms. We all agree on this forum that Genting is a very good recovery story and has very good prospects given its leveraged position. I am heavily invested, but my concern is with related party transactions as well make up of shareholder base, which has no doubt impacted the performance. Let’s hope CNY, brings robust share performance matching Gentings undoubted prospects.

Let’s hope GB breaks through RM 5, and stays above before CNY. In my reckoning meaningful rally in price should take the price beyond 5.37 and the catalyst could be the full year results, on February 23. There will be profit takers along the way as we have witnessed so far. Foreign institutional investment is the key.

Market is usually ahead of the share price action, but not in the case of Genting, which if the market was looking ahead it would be around 5.37 plus! By the way I don’t drive Rolls I invest in their shares, which excludes cars which is another company altogether. With your excellent investment knowledge you must be investing internationally?

Very true of the entire stock market in Malaysia..also counters with large share ownership by founders is also problematical as they dump shares as and when…they have no concern for shareholders of the company in fact they actually milk the system. That’s why we see laggard performance and profit taking when price goes up slightly.
