Thank you @dragon328 for your detailed and indepth research into YTLP that gave us the conviction to hold on to the shares during its 3 month consolidation. 80% of my Bursa holding was on YTLP and YTL. This morning I converted the remaing 20%.

Honestly i havent cash out a single lot since last May/June.. am i growing greedy or being not wise? The question i keep asking myself. What and where m i going to put or invest those $ if i cash out on the group and cement? Until now i still haveny got the definite answer? Anyone could share your thoughts, perhaps Sir dragon328 and Sir Ooi could shed some lights on this.
Like i mentioned tis morning, ytlp and ytl are in the right business model for yhe next decades, and especially yhe AI fever. I still of the view there is still more legs to go besides the good dividends. Or cash out put on FD(nay! Too slow), invest in bank counters) doubt so. Its a dificult decision
Like some forward looking guys...the Passover, the LORD removed/eliminated Pharaoh king of Egypt so that Moses who was nominated by Him to guide the community into the Promised Land.
Without removing Pharaoh, the plan can not be carried out. The LORD led the enemy to the Red Sea. Why? If Moses lead them out directly from Egypt across through Gaza, it will take less than 2 weeks. Instead the community was into the wilderness and going in through the Jordan. Then, in the midst of the desert, the community complained to Moses that they had prefer to remain Egypt and to died there since there was no water/food in the desert.
But the plan from the LORD is above our understanding. He wanted to drown the Egyptian armies and the horses together.
SO, the journey took the community/the 2nd generation longer duration before they arrived at the Promised Land. Moses did not have the privilege to enter. One moment of mistake only.

Touche OTB, well said..Yes Thank you dragon328!

@Agjl I believe the fortune for RE sector has a shelf life like all industries where eventually the barriers to entry to this monopolistic industry will be lowered for competition. I heard a industrial analyst or fund maager from US (if unmistaken) on BFM recently who said that RE industry life around 2-3 years before healthy competition comes in. YTLP benefit is not only in RE but tech and utilities as well. So the appeal is there. IMO whether to realise profit or not from YTLP depends on your age and your expectation and financial goals. Equities are just investments to get you nearer to your financial goals. If you are young can enjoy the small yearly dividend and enjoy seeing the paper profit OR realise the huge gain and invest into other equities with better higher dividend. For example, I am targeting for YTLP to have enough profit to buy MBB shares that pay out a dividend of RM0.60 (usually RM0.58 annually) compared to YTLP RM0.06. Basically I translate the paper gain to actual stock price and my dividend will be 4 times annually from MBB (roughly 60+ years of forward dividend from YTLP in advance) compared to if I didn't switch at all. So no right or wrong but rather my personally goal to earn passive income from my portfolio of dividend stocks. Downside? I might miss out of extraordinary profits from sale of assets and special dividends when YTLP eventually diversify its portfolio.
on this note, like the others here, thanks to @dragon328 and the others for their dedication and passion in sharing useful information to the rest of us. It certainly has been a roller coaster of a ride over the past 6 months.
Bank and plantation counters no need to monitor so much...so steady ..
Dividend investing is like planting a tree...
The earlier you start, the bigger your tree is going to grow.
And before you know it, you will be resting in the shade of your own financial forest, enjoying the fruits of your labor, year after year...
Why?
Because dividends... GROW.
And that's how some Dividend Machines reached their milestones in dividends.
For the past 10 years...
DBS (Bank) increased their dividends by 158% Wilmar (Plantation) increased their dividends by 112% So if you think $5,000 in annual dividends today is too little...
Your $5,000 'passive' income just became:
$12,900 if you invested in DBS $10,600 if you invested in Wilmar All you did is buying the right dividend stocks...
...And wait
Get paid in year 1...
...And wait
Get paid more in year 2...
...And wait
Get paid even more in year 3...
Life is so beautiful when you can continue Goyang kaki.. Hihihi
What are the fundamental strategies behind dividend and growth investing?
They're like two sides of the same coin in the world of investing, each with its own perks and quirks.
Dividend investing is akin to a dependable ally providing you with a steady flow of income. You will favor companies with a track record of steady profit growth and high dividend payout, thus ensuring a reliable stream of dividends to bolster your portfolio.
Conversely, growth investing is all about chasing the thrill of high-growth small cap stocks and watching the share prices skyrocket over time. This can be very fulfilling like we have seen Street Smart fighters in Wall Street, provided they are back up with strong fundamentals based on audited Annual Report. Past performance does not guarantee future result...
It's something like Value Investing. Mabel will only sell when the fundamental change..
@Mabel Yes agreed. Carpe Diem my friend, Carpe Diem. Time and tide waits for no man. Maximise your returns asap. Nice to see your investment in MBB forum too. Trying to beat brother @stkoay with his annual RM50+K annual dividend!.. so far no success, not even close ... sigh

Haha Touche jeffchan..
Yes indeed. stkoay is a fine example of a good Value Investor that we all can learn from him..
Dear Mabel and Jeff, thank you both for your inputs. Actually what jeff suggesting or rather his principle of diverting high gain investment to high dividend stocks is something that i have been pondering. The key to this will be the timing of the disposal of the high gain stocks and the entry into the high dividend stock. Timing is everything. Of course no one can sell atbthe peak and buy at the lowest....finding the balance require skills and patience....for ytlp, i would still think itbhas more legs to go... i will just wait a little while then i shall joint you guys in the HARIMAU club. Cheers!
@Agjl You're welcome. All of us here share for the benefit of one another - well at least some like @dragon328 and a few others anyway).
I normally look at the share technical charts to see the trade and volume pattern as well to determine if the time is right to go in (one of the many expensive lessons learned along the way in equities investments. I take analysts TP as a guide but with a pinch of salt.
Even my remisier told me once that he also dont trust 100% what his Broking firm analysts share out. Who knows what hidden agenda these brokerage firms have at stake with their investments as well.
I usually only trade in stocks with consistent dividend payout and with solid fundamentals. Like what was shared in the other forum, I'll also share what Warren Buffet once said, invest in the Business you understand. I try and avoid seasonal businesses. REIT is a good stock to hold but risk from interest in OPR ad maybe life changing events like Covid. Financial market in a growing economy is a good choice as well. The days banks when fail, no hope already for the country. Anyway Malaysian Banks if no scandal are a pretty safe bet for me. Meanwhile RE is the way forward now as Madani Govt is pushing hard for it. So it's a no-brainer for an opportunistic investment.
Hope you find your trade and business you believe in too. Btw, I never get sentimental over my stock portfolio. For me it's all about the DY and how it will provide me cashflow in the long run. Day trading is not really my cup of tea as it requires constant monitoring and my time, a luxury which I rather not waste on looking at the stocks daily. Stressful and may not necessarily be rewarding all the time. Above all, hold on to your conviction and DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH as well. Good Luck!

Now seeing ytlp had a good run yesterday, wall street came out a revised price target for ytlp at RM6.06. Isnt this the price we especially dragon and OTB been talking about? We are more dar sighted in this… hahaha
YTL & YTLP is still considered value buys due to its undemanding or rather low PE valuation coupled with its high growth prospects in Green Data Centre Park using the most powerful AI Technology- in collaboration with Nvidia.

Sorry the wall street is about ytl corp. my apology. And wow! Ytl corp RM6.06??!!! Wow! ----------------------------- dragon328 and I never cheat any reader in this forum. You all should know who is the shameless liar who accused us of cheating. I really do not care who is this shameless liar here. I am only interested the stock I recommended will perform very well and every reader here is laughing all the way to the bank. I care the most is the karma that I get. I try my very best to do the best and in a honest way. So far I have a very good record in I3. Good luck. Thank you.
A nice person does not want to behave herself, want to take a revenge and cause a damage to all poor investors here. Her action is causing a damage to all investors here. No point to badmouth YTLpower with lies. Karma will hit hard on you, it is a reminder.
The big jump in fair value there is due to an updated free cashflow figure (~RM6.0 billion) for FY2027 submitted by one analyst, then AI simply uses it to project further growth forward to over RM10 billion after 2030. So the terminal value becomes very high and hence fair value also jump up high.
But I see the free cashflow figure submitted by the analyst as credible, as I myself is projecting for a net profit of over RM5.0 billion and free cashflows over RM6.0 billion for FY2027 for YTL Power.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
