He is an advocate and solicitor by profession. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, England and was called to the English Bar in 1983. He is currently a Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths.

Mr. Lawrence was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak and called to the Sarawak Bar in 1984 and the Sabah Bar in 1986. He was also immediate past Vice-president of Advocates Association of Sarawak and the immediate past Chairman of its Miri Branch. He was also previously a Councillor of the Miri Municipal Council from 1993 to 1999.ai, Sandhu & Co., Advocates and Solicitors. He was currently a Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths. He was the past Vice-President of Advocates Association of Sarawak and the pass Chairman of its Miri Branch. He previously was also a Councillor of Miri Municipal Council from 1993 to 1999 and was awarded the Ahli Bintang Sarawak ("ABS").
