Working Experience
Encik Mahbob Bin Abdullah started his career with Harrisons and Crosfield in Perak in 1963 as a trainee assistant. He then joined Plantations Agencies Ltd in Tangkak, Johor as Assistant Manager on rubber plantation. He was attached to Unilever Plantations of Oil Palm in Kluang, Johor and Sabah, and Solomon Islands from 1968 to 1987. In 1984, he moved to London as senior team member and supervised Unilever Plantations in DR Congo, Ghana, Cameroun, Nigeria, Thailand and Malaysia. He rose from the rank of Divisional Manager to Estate Manager, Managing Director, Chairman of Lever Solomons Ltd and Vice-Chairman of Pamol Plantations Sdn Bhd. He joined Sime Darby Berhad from 1987 to 1993 as a consultant and was involved in the management of plantations for international clients. He was the Director of Refineries in Sime Darby Berhad for 8 years from 1993 to 2000. He was responsible for supervising the production and marketing of refineries in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Egypt. He was a member of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Programme Advisory Committee for 10 years on matters related to marketing and commercial aspects. After his retirement from Sime Darby in 2000, he formed his consultancy business, IPC Services Sdn Berhad to provide services in the upstream and downstream business of the industry within Malaysia and internationally. Currently, he is a Director of Felda Plantations Sdn Bhd, Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd, Felda Vegetable Oil Products Sdn Bhd, Felda-IFFCO Sdn Bhd, FIMA Bulking Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of Kumpulan Fima Berhad).
