An Australia trained Accountant with Cost Accounting background, He is a member of The Malaysian Institute of Accountants, The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Australian Society of Accountants, The Malaysian Institute of Directors and a Fellow of The Institute of The Motor Industry.

He started his professional career in 1964 when he assumed the post of General Manager and Director of a manufacturing and trading concern dealing in non-consumable products. From 1967 to 1971, he was attached to a local accounting firm as Senior Accountant, and during this period, he was seconded to a stock broking firm for 1 1/2 years to reorganize and manage the business. In 1971, he started his own Public Accounting Firm. He joined Oriental Holdings Berhad Group in 1972 as General Manager and Advisor, with emphasis on the motor business. Since 1987, he has been the Group Managing Director, and to this day he still oversees the Group's overall business particularly four wheelers as well as the manufacturing of automotive (4-wheelers and 2-wheelers), electronics and plastic parts both locally and abroad. He is also actively involved in hotel and resorts, plantation, construction machinery, leasing and finance. In 2001, he was appointed Managing Director of Oriental-Hyundai Sdn. Bhd. and Kah Bintang Auto Sdn. Bhd., subsidiaries of Oriental Holdings Berhad formed to distribute and market Hyundai CKD vehicles in Malaysia.

He is the eldest brother-in-law of Dato' Loh Cheng Yean, Dato' Dr. Tan Chong Siang and Dato' Lim Su Tong.

He holds directly 150,958 stocks and indirectly 134,894 stocks in Oriental Holdings Berhad.
