Diploma in Quantity Surveying from Thames Polytechnic, London, United Kingdom, and an MSc in Construction Management from the Herriot-Watt University, Scotland. He also holds fellowships with The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (UK) and the Institute of Surveyors Malaysia, as well as Professional Membership with The Chartered Institute of Building of Malaysia.
Working Experience
He was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director of AZRB on 1 January 2003. He presently sits on the Remuneration Committee as an ordinary member of the Company.
He was the founding CEO of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIBD) Malaysia, a post which he held from 1995 to the year 2002, after which he held the post of Chairman of CIDB until December 2006. Prior to CIDB, he started his career in the Public Works Department (PWD) where he served for 25 years. His last post in the department was the Deputy Director General of PWD in 1992, he was accorded an Honorary Professor by the University Technology Malaysia. Among other appointments, he has also been President of the Institute of Surveyors, Malaysia, Chairman of the Technical Committee on the Development of the Professional Institute for Baitulmal Wilayah Persekutuan and the President of the Board of Quantity Surveyors, Malaysia.
