He has held senior positions at TNB within the 34 years of service with the organization which covers the full spectrum of the utility business. He has also undertaken various functions for other groups and organizations including the Ministry of Energy, Communications and Multimedia, ASEAN Energy Cooperation, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), World Energy Council, International Council on Large Electric System (CIGRE), Asian Development Bank and the World Bank (IBRD).

He is the Chairman of the Energy Commission of Malaysia, a member of the Atomic Energy Licensing Board and also a member of the Malaysian Standards Accreditation Council.
