Tuan Haji Wahab started his career with Australian Gaslight Company in Sydney as an Assistant Accountant from 1967 until 1971. He then took up the position of Internal Auditor with Malaysian Airlines System from 1972 to 1973. The following year, he joined MIDF Industrial Consultants Sdn Bhd as a Consultant for four years until 1978. Tuan Haji Wahab then joined Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority ("RISDA") in 1979 as Director of Finance and was there until 1983. During the next 10 years from 1984 to 1994 he was with the Affin Holding Berhad Group of Companies and held various senior positions including General Manager of Affin Finance Berhad and JP Finance Berhad and Chief Internal Auditor of what was then Perwira Affin Bank Malaysia Berhad. In 1995 he left to join the Business Focus Group of Companies as Managing Director and managed the Group's business and banking operations in Sydney, London, Ghana, Guinea, South Africa and Albania before leaving in 1997. Currently, Tuan Haji Wahab acts as Consultant and Advisor to a number of private companies and is a Director of CPA Australia (M) Sdn Bhd.
