YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Chen Wing Sum has held positions of Chairman and Director in various corporations during 1972 to 2000. He has been involved in Government service and politics since 1964 and has served as a member of Parliament from 1964-1986 and a member of the Senate from 1997 to 2003. He also held the position of Parliamentary Secretary, Secretary General of Alliance, Minister with Special Function, Vice-President of MCA, Deputy President of MCA, Minister of Housing, Local Government and New Village, Treasurer General of Barisan Nasional, Deputy President of the Senate and President of the Senate during his tenure as a member of Parliament and the Senate.

He also has vast experience on international affairs and during his term of office as President of the Senate, he had officially been invited to visit Japan, China, Middle East, Latin America, India and Eastern Europe.

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Chen Wing Sum has been a director of AMDB Berhad from August 8 1997 to December 8 2000. He resigned from the Board when he was elected President of the Senate. He has retired as President of the Senate and is now appointed as AMDB Berhad’s Independent Non-Executive Director.
