Working Experience
Mr Lim joined Peat Marwick Mitchell (now known as KPMG), United Kingdom in 1978. He returned to Malaysia in 1982 and continued his career in KPMG Malaysia until his retirement in 2011. He was admitted as partner of KPMG Malaysia in 1990, and was in the Management Committee from 1997 to 2001 and served on the Partnership Supervisory Council from 2002 to 2010. In 2006, he was tasked to start up the Audit Committee Institute, Malaysia (“ACI Malaysia”), which was a virtual worldwide initiative sponsored by KPMG to assist Independent Directors in enhancing their awareness and ability to implement affective board processes.
He actively served as an examiner for Company Law examinations in the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“MICPA”) for over a period of ten (10) years. He was also the Chairman of the MICPA Code of Ethics Committee and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants Code of Ethics Committee from 2002 to 2004. He had also developed an expertise from undertaking the role of Reporting Accountants in an initial public offering and was the Audit partner in charge of over thirty (30) initial public offerings whilst at KPMG.
