After graduation, En Sofiyan joined Petroliam Nasional Berhad as an engineer. He joined Pappos Sdn Bhd as a mechanical engineer in 1980 and Pipeline Construction Sdn Bhd as General Manager in 1984. In 1985, he joined Solus Oceaneering Sdn Bhd as Area Manager, East Malaysia. He joined Oilfield Inspection Services Sdn Bhd as Managing Director in 1986 and joined the KNM Group in 1993. He was appointed an Executive Director of the Company on 14 June 2003.
