Rizani has over 30 years of experience in legal and company secretarial matters. He began his career as a Legal Officer of a government statutory body in 1987 and subsequently joined a private law firm as an advocate and solicitor in 1991. He was appointed Legal Corporate Counsel of Malaysian Airline System Berhad (MAS) in 1994 and thereafter as Group Company Secretary in 2002. He headed the Group Secretarial/Legal department in MAS before joining TM.ice

He was appointed Chief Legal and Secretarial Officer (CLSO) of TM on 1 January 2020 and assumed the role of Group Company Secretary of TM, responsible for legal and company secretarial matters of TM Group on the same date.

Rizani holds a Diploma in Law and Advanced Diploma in Law from the Universiti Teknologi of MARA, previously MARA Insititute of Technology in 1986 and 1987, respectively. He further obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Syariah Law and Practice in 1991 and Masters of Comparative Law in 1993, both from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 1992 and holds a Company Secretary license issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia since 1994.
