Takaful Malaysia

Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad began in 1981 when the Government of Malaysia set up a task force to study the feasibility of establishing an Islamic insurance company in Malaysia. That led to the incorporation of Takaful Malaysia on 29 November 1984 followed by the commencement of operations on 22 July 1985. After slightly more than a decade of operations, the Company was converted into a public limited company on 19 October 1995, followed by its listing on the Main Board (now known as 'Main Market') of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 30 July 1996.

Backed by strong financial support with total assets of RM 7.8 billion at group level and acknowledged as a top yielding company, Takaful Malaysia is the only Islamic Insurance Company listed in Malaysia.

Syarikat Takaful Malaysia provides various general Takaful schemes (Islamic Insurance) for protection against material loss or damage arising from catastrophes, disasters or misfortunes inflicted upon properties and other assets.

Dato' Mohamed Hassan Bin Md. Kamil has been Group Chief Executive Officer of Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad since April 24, 2017 and served as its Group Managing Director from April 1, 2007 to April 24, 2017.

Personally, I think Takaful has potential to growth given

i)                     The only Islamic Insurance Company and syariah compliant company listed in Bursa. Basically Takaful has monopoly the market for Islamic.

ii)                   Given population size of 31.7 million. 68.6% of bumiputera and among them 51% are Malays. That means their target customer is about 15.85 million populations. In simply maths, every one in two of the Malaysian can be their customer

iii)                  Experience manager, as CEO,  Dato' Mohamed Hassan Bin Md. Kamil has been in the company for 10 years. Team has proof that under their care, the company’s profit and asset has persistently growing.

iv)                 Share price not yet being goreng recent explosive growth of earning per share. EPF has been collecting in almost daily basis. Hence, I believe once the collection is complete, that will be the time share price going up.

Looking into the past performance of EPF, I have confident that they choose the right company!
