KUALA LUMPUR (May 23): Automotive upholstery supplier Pecca Group Bhd plans to work with privately-held Global Component Asia Sdn Bhd (GCA) to provide cabin interior solution and seat cover products and services in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Australasia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday (May 23), Pecca said its wholly-owned subsidiary Pecca Aviation Services Sdn Bhd (PASSB) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GCA to explore opportunities for collaboration in this area.

"The MoU is intended to have collaboration between PASSB and GCA to provide aircraft interior product services to complement a wider service solution for the customers of GCA. At the same time, PASSB can tap into the civil and military aircraft market and increase its market penetration in Southeast Asia and Australasia in which GCA has presence, network, and resources with its key customers in these markets," it added.

Based in Subang, Selangor, GCA's principal activity is involved in the business of providing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to civil and military aircraft. Its directors are Azri Murad, Anuar Murad, Kamarul Azhan Nordin, Wan Ahmad Idzham Wan Sulaiman and Datuk Nonee Ashirin Mohd Radzi.

The MoU is effective for one year.

"Should the collaboration materialise, it is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of Pecca Group," said Pecca.

Pecca shares closed down 1.5 sen or 1.49% at 99.5 sen on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM748.24 million.
