KUALA LUMPUR (June 22): Eversendai Corporation Bhd has inked a strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) to secure more Adnoc projects in coming years.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Thursday (June 22), Eversendai said the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MOIAT) has launched a programme called “Make it in the Emirates” to drive the indigenous industrial growth within the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

As part of this programme, Adnoc has launched an event to sign the SCA with the shortlisted UAE established steel fabricators.

Eversendai said its subsidiary in the UAE, Eversendai Offshore RMC FZE, had signed the deal with Adnoc.

The company said it was shortlisted and invited to be part of this SCA signing ceremony.

It said through this SCA, Adnoc has mandated steel fabrication works to be performed within UAE fabrication facilities.

“It is expected the fabrication business and its whole supply chain will be assured work from Adnoc.

“It’s the intention of Adnoc to facilitate the business opportunities between Adnoc and UAE steel fabricators for the next five years, whereby huge potential opportunities are expected within Adnoc’s project development programme,” Eversendai said.

“Eversendai believes Adnoc has a lot of upcoming opportunities for Eversendai to contribute positively to the MOIAT’s campaign of 'Make it in the Emirates',” it said.

Eversendai rose 1 sen or 8% to 13.5 sen on Thursday, with 2.24 million shares changed hands.
