On a regular basis, Google compiles a list of which science and technology and science topics are being queried the most by US users in its dedicated Search engine. Over the past 24 hours, the trending searches have been about a new Covid-19 testing method, the launch of The Cloud Foundry's latest command line interface, and the coronavirus outbreak in LA County.

Over the past 24 hours, a new method of Covid-19 testing that can be performed on entire populations topped Google Search's trending science and technology topics.

Orthocoronavirinae • Research Screening

On June 24, it was revealed that researchers at the Vienna BioCenter have developed a "cheap, simple and quick" Covid-19 detection technique, called the Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP), that can be used to test entire populations for the disease. The entire process takes approximately 30 minutes and can be performed by people without specialised skills or equipment.

Cloud Foundry • Cloud computing • VMware

On June 24, the opening day of the virtual Cloud Foundry Summit, The Cloud Foundry announced the release of the seventh version of the Cloud Foundry Command Line Interface. To summarise, the company outlines that this tech "unlocks new application development workflows for users who require granular control of their applications and supports advanced deployment strategies by utilising the Cloud Foundry v3 APIs. Both the new CLI tool and the v3 APIs enable unique workflows by exposing package, droplet, build, and process control resources."

Orthocoronavirinae • Los Angeles County

As of June 24, LA County took the lead as the US county with the most Covid-19 cases. Despite this, the county is continuing to reopen.

Microsoft Corporation • Computer security • Internet of Things • Information technology

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that it has acquired the cybersecurity company CyberX to improve their IoT technology security. Microsoft intends for this integration to solve two main challenges: to give "customers visibility into what IoT devices are already connected to their networks," and to manage "the security on existing IoT devices (referred to as "brownfield devices") that have been historically difficult due to a myriad of custom protocols."

Under Armour • Mask • Exercise

Despite having been launched a few weeks ago, Under Armour's UA Sportsmask, a performance mask designed to be worn while exercising, is gaining steam in Google's tech and science Search trends. The three-layer mask is reusable, water-resistant, and "designed for maximum breathability by Under Armour's innovation team in record time."
