Social network users are accustomed to hearing voices created by artificial intelligence. But now, they'll be able to transform their own voice into an AI simulated version for use in their TikTok videos. Here's how it works.

Text-to-speech technology has become increasingly popular on social platforms in recent years. This trend has largely been driven by the rise of TikTok, the first social network to offer this feature for videos.

And while social networks like Instagram have followed suit by developing their own AI-generated voiceover functions, the platform is taking things even further. According to social media expert, Jonah Manzano, TikTok is offering users the possibility of creating custom AI voiceovers using their own voice.

The process is simple. In the voiceover options, some users can now select the new "Create Your Own AI Voice" tool. According to Jonah Manzano's test in his YouTube
video, the process is incredibly fast and efficient. All the content creator has to do is record himself reading out a sentence proposed by the social network, which enables the platform to create a synthesised voice that sounds just like his own. In a few seconds, a voice is generated. If the user is not satisfied with the result, they can repeat the process.

After creating their own custom AI voice, users will then be able to use it in their videos. While the data collected by the platform to create a simulated voice may worry users, the social media giant specifies that "your AI voice will be private, and you can delete it at any time.”

While the result is already impressive, the tool can even go so far as to translate your personalised voiceover into other languages. English, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Japanese and Indonesian are currently available, according to the expert's screenshots.
