U.S. crude oil inventories up last week: API

HOUSTON, April 30 -- The American Petroleum Institute (API) on Tuesday reported an increase of 4.906 million barrels of crude oil in U.S. inventories for the week ending April 26.

The API reported a decline of 3.230 million barrels in the previous week.

Oil prices fell on Tuesday.

The West Texas Intermediate for June delivery decreased by 70 cents, or 0.85 percent, to settle at 81.93 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for June delivery lost 54 cents, or 0.61 percent, to settle at 87.86 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
