ALOR SETAR: PAS will reject any pact with Pakatan Harapan for the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15), says its Kedah information chief.

Mohd Azam Abd Samat said that in line with the party stand and Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang article titled "Mengapa PAS Menolak Pakatan Harapan", all northern fronts of the party rejected the idea of the "big tent" concept of the coalition.

"We have had a 'long' experience with DAP which is part of the coalition.

"How many promises and understanding they broke and in addition to that with their interference in our effort to promote Islam as a way of life," he said in a statement.

He said revenge politics, voracious action, selective persecution, power abuse and many more can lead to tragedy in the country.

The Sungai Limau assemblyman said as a matter of principle, Pakatan must be rejected as they were the divisive factor in the party to weaken the Muslim politics.

He said the Icerd ratification, the Rome Statute, the undersea tunnel scandal and the three island project as well as political provocation have caused unease among the people.

"After the collapse of the Pakatan government, the formation of Perikatan Nasional has successfully treated the wounds that were caused during the former's 22-month administration," he said.

PAS Perlis echoed similar sentiments and supported the party's stand to reject Pakatan.

Its state information chief Muhammad Azmir Azizan said the party president's article described Pakatan's attitude which was dangerous for Islam and the future of the nation.

"We PAS Perlis, support the president's stand and it should be followed by all citizens of the country regardless of race or religion," he said.

He said Pakatan did not only fail during its 22-month administration but was also a contributing factor to many problems in the country including one that involved Malay Ruler rights and the sovereignty of the nation.

He called the rakyat to come together to ensure that the coalition would be defeated in GE15.

Meanwhile Penang PAS urged Malaysians to be wiser by rejecting Pakatan in GE15 and not to be influenced by their new slogan and promises.

"Penang has been the main centre for DAP-Pakatan and is seen as the 'lab rat' due to the uneven development where many of its projects have caused a negative impact on the state.

"Malaysians especially the Malays must open their eyes, to see the real faces who hide behind Pakatan, a party that practises socialism," said state party commissioner Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff.

He said the ummah unity in Penang would bring changes after being ruled by DAP-Pakatan which was not impossible if Penangites is united for the sake of prosperity.
