GE15: Barisan will keep its promise to implement manifesto’s three-DPM proposal, says PM

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional will implement the proposal to have three deputy prime ministers in its manifesto, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
"Barisan always kept its promises," he said on the suggestion for a deputy prime minister to come from Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia.
The Prime Minister said this at the Sabah Barisan's Blue Wave programme in Kimanis about 60km from here Sunday (Oct 23).
The Umno vice-president said in order for Barisan to be strong in Putrajaya, the coalition needed to win big.
He said it was important for Barisan to emerge as a dominant party in the election and if it fails to do so, the situation would be similar to the political situation after the 2018 general election.
Earlier, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is Barisan chairman, said the DPMs could be appointed from the East Malaysian states and the peninsula if the coalition formed the government after the 15th General Election (GE15).
Including this into the Barisan manifesto, he said, would allow the Prime Minister to pick leaders from the three regions in the country.
He said the DPM position was important for Sabah to obtain more federal funding besides protecting the rights of Sabahans.
Ahmad Zahid added the move for DPMs from East Malaysia was also in line with the spirit of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) in restoring the status of Sabah and Sarawak.

What is the benefit of having three DPMs? Nothing.
It only incurs more tax payers money to feed these imbeciles monthly while in position.
So far, nothing commendable or useful has been achieved by existing Ministers. What can the rakyat expect from the proposed puppet positions?
