THE Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition has yet to decide on its Selangor Menteri Besar (MB) candidate, dubbed the “poster boy,” for the upcoming state election in mid-2023.

Selangor PAS secretary Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir said the question of whether the MB candidate would come from PAS or Bersatu is still under negotiation.

“There is no decision yet,” Malaysiakini reported him as saying.

Likewise, the names to be put forward as the MB candidates is still in negotiations, according to Roslan.

Meanwhile, Kedah PAS confirmed that Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor will be PN’s “poster boy” to face the state election there.

Sanusi’s selection as a “poster boy” was made on the basis of the public’s support for him as well as his performance, according to Kedah PAS secretary Musodak Ahmad.

Sanusi who is also the PN’s election director stated last Saturday (March 25) that the coalition’s MB candidates would serve as its “poster boys” in the six state elections.

State elections are expected to be held in Kelantan, Kedah, Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang in late June or early July.

Bersatu insiders also revealed that the coalition was still discussing who would be their nominee for Selangor MB.

“There are no names that can be mentioned for now. However, we already have some candidates chosen,” added the source. - March 29, 2023
