KUALA LUMPUR: A Bersatu MP says he refused to move to the “other side" by pledging support for the Prime Minister although he was invited to do so by six people.

Roslan Hashim (PN-Kulim Bandar Baharu) said this when he was asked by Mohd Sany Hamzan (PH-Hulu Langat) if he wanted to move to the government bench.

“I refuse to move over to the government side, despite six people inviting me and the offer being lucrative,” Roslan said when Mohd Sany interjected during his speech on the motion of thanks on the royal address in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (March 4).

So far, six Bersatu MPs have pledged support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In January, Tanjong Karang MP Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi became the sixth Bersatu MP to declare support for Anwar.

The others are Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan) and Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang).

On Saturday (March 2), Bersatu amended its constitution to automatically nullify the membership of any of its elected representatives who shift allegiance to rival parties.
